Love and Bounty Hunting (Story 16 - Chapter 3)

Later That Night: 

With Venno and Dexx: 

The Velociraptor and Anglerfish both landed on the rooftop across the street from the BHA, the two ensuring they remained out of sight from the security cameras that were hanging on either end of the front of the building, closer to the doors. 

Now that it was later after hours, the only employees who would be working this late would be the security guards, and most likely the Field Team Operatives, considering they had to find and locate the escaped bounty. 

Venno took out her binoculars and looked down at the front doors, the Velociraptor examining the now boarded up windows, the glass having been shattered only hours before. 

“Well, at least they had the windows boarded up. I’ll have to ask Barry tomorrow morning whether he had the new windows ordered in or not” muttered Venno to herself, the Velociraptor putting her binoculars away as she glanced down both ends of the street. 

Dexx chuckled, the Anglerfish shrugging before nudging her. 

“Or maybe you can contact him later in the afternoon, considering, you know-” started Dexx, but Venno scoffed playfully and rolled her eyes. 

“Oh, yeah. You don’t need to finish that sentence, Dexx. I know exactly what you mean” said Venno, the Velociraptor purring lightly as she turned to her husband and reached up to grab his chin with her hand, turning his head so he was facing her. 

Dexx’s eyes widened in shock, but he then chuckled, shaking his head. 

“You know me too well, Ms.Rapter” said Dexx playfully, the Anglerfish deciding to revert back to how he used to call Venno when they first met, if only for tonight. 

Venno giggled, the Velociraptor quickly catching on to the game he was playing with her. 

“Oh, Mr.Angle, I know you a lot better than you think I do” said Venno, the Velociraptor smirking as she began walking away from him, her hand gently running along the bottom of his chin, causing a chill to run down his spin as his ear twitched. 

A bright blush adorning Dexx’s now flustered face, having been completely caught off guard by Venno’s sudden flirtiness, but managed to regain himself as he followed after her. 

“So, what’s the plan in finding this guy, huh? I mean, we obviously can’t be caught up here by the Field Team, since, you know,they’re probably out looking for him, too” asked Dexx curiously, the Anglerfish deciding to get back to the topic at hand. 

There would be plenty of time later, after they get home, to finally let all the sexual tension between the two loose. 

Right now, they had an escaped Bounty to find. 

Venno hummed in thought, the Velociraptor now thinking as she and Dexx walked along the rooftops. 

“Well, this is the direction the guy went in, so by going this way, we should be able to locate him quicker rather than choosing a random direction to search in” started Venno, the Velociraptor stating the obvious. 

Dexx smiled and nodded, having recalled which direction the Birch Tree Plant denizen went after running off down the street. 

“And how do you know he’ll still be down that direction? Maybe at some point, he doubled back and decided to go the other direction” said Dexx, the Anglerfish smirking as he leaned over and nudged Venno’s arm playfully. 

Venno sighed and rolled her eyes, smiling as she shook her head. 

“Honestly? We don’t know, but our best bet would be to head towards the park. That’s the most likely place he’d go to to heal, since he’s a Plant denizen” began Venno, the Velociraptor hoping down from a slightly taller rooftop onto a shorter one just a meter below, Dexx nodding as he followed close behind.
