"Okay..." You honestly didn't really believe this was happening; you walked to the window just behind you and looked out at the area.

Time had stopped, the shield seemed to be still, and you looked in the distance to see Steve and Bucky standing there, still, it was a chilling feeling seeing them like that, it was utterly unnatural.

Gently you reached over and pinched yourself gently, yep, you were not imagining this – this wasn't some kind of hallucination that was coming from the stress of your feelings, you felt pain, you closed your eyes and took one big breath and turned around.

The younger looking Tony Stark and Loki were still standing there, they had a relaxed expressions and seemed to be holding a very calm demeanor.

The three of you were kind of in a standoff as you simply looked at them, then you extended your hands wider as if to say 'well, why are you here?'

"Right, how are doing." Loki asked.

"Not great." You pointed to the window behind with your thumb. "As you can see we are under attack."

"Yeah, they are the new reborn form of Hydra – not like you were a part of, they are much darker, going back to the old ways of things, they are actually here for Steve."

"Oh..."

Again you had no idea how to respond to that, at least you had an answer as to who was attacking you.

"Don't worry, they will retreat soon, Asgard is on the way, so we wanted to talk to you about the timeline."

"Timeline?"

"Yes." Loki smiled, he looked so normal, nothing like the trickster god you had seen a file on, looking at him you could mistake him for a simple human man.

"We are from a different timeline, the timeline that your Steve comes from."

You were shocked, you could have sworn that Steve had said that his timeline was destroyed, so where the hell had these two come from?

As if reading your mind Tony seemed to answer you. "Our timeline was destroyed, but Steve really shouldn't be here."

Your eyes narrowed at them as a protective feeling started to come over you, what did they mean by that.

"He shouldn't?"

"No. But we can't take him out of this timeline, his actually integrating into this fabric of this timeline, taking him out now would cause damage – and that is kind of your fault." Loki chastised, you wanted to be offended, but at this moment it seemed like this wasn't the time to take things personally.

He continued after a moment "But bad things are coming, and you need to focus on surviving." Tony looked over at Loki, as if he was making sure that he had said enough.

"What the fuck does that mean."

"That's all that we can say. Sorry for being cryptic, our hands are somewhat tied at the moment."

In a split second there was a loud boom and you felt yourself almost jump five feet at the sound, you looked behind you as saw the shield shimmer from the hit.

"They are on there way back..."

Loki explained as you looked back and they walked though the slight door, and disappeared right in front of you.

"What the fuck?" You said aloud after a while of stunned silence.
