--- Steve's Point of View ---

I had a feeling that she would be a very terrible poker player, as I could tell that she was hiding something, I wasn't sure what it is.

But I watched as her face went pale, I could basically see the color drain from her face.

"Yeah you need to get some rest." I walked forward and picked her up taking her to the back room, I laid her down and walked into the kitchen area, looking around, I was happy when I found some painkillers.

I'm sure like me, as a super solider, someone like Thor who is basically a god wouldn't normally use human grade pain killers – myself had to use 10 times the human dose even to feel anything.

I filled a cut of water and walked into the back room, I looked and saw Bucky walking and bouncing a now very annoyed Amberle, he looked at me and down at the meds simply nodded. I was used to my Bucky's timelines moods; he was anxious but was trying his best to hide it – and this timeliness Bucky seemed to be the same.

When I got back to her bed side I gently shook her awake.

"Here is some aspirin."

"Thank you."

She took the water and took the meds, when she was done I leaned forward and kissed her, she kissed me back then laid down and snuggled into the pillow, she hadn't been sleeping very well, and a part of me felt guilty for fucking her as much as I had. I think she just needed to get some rest.

It took me a moment to realize the booming had stopped, I walked back into the front room, the door was open and Bucky, still holding Amberle was looking out.

I walked up beside him, rubbing Amberle soft baby head.

"They are gone."

"Yep."

We both looked to the side hearing someone coming up the hillside, I instantly recognized it as Valkyrie.

"I'll raise the shield." I explained already moving to do so, I walked over and turned it down, we both walked out of the house and she walked up to us.

"Are you guys alright... is she." She asked motioning to Amberle who cooed in response.

"Yeah we are fine, she's sleeping." Bucky explained motioning with his head over his shoulder to the house.

She nodded.

"Sorry, we were on the island when the attack happened, when we landed we instantly started to make our way over, they left."

"Do we know who they are?"

"No, sadly we have no idea, the left way to quickly and had a cloak on the aircraft that we couldn't follow without Thor."

I saw that she looked confused again, like she was hesitating to say something, after a moment she cleared her throat.

"There was something else, something that was picked up by our sensors that look for unusual signals or anything out of the ordinary actually, something odd pinged inside the shield for a moment, are you sure that everything is fine?"

We looked at one another, I think we both knew that she wasn't telling us something, but we had no idea what that could be.

"She got sick all of a sudden, but other than that nothing."

After a bit of a pause, she shrugged.

"It might be nothing, if she doesn't impros eina few hours come and get me, I will have our healer look her over, do you guys need anything?"

"No, thank you."

She smiled at us, then her expression suddenly became serious.

"We will figure out who that is, no worries, put the shield back up in the meantime."

She nodded and turned and left, when she was out of ear shot Bucky turned to me.

"Do you have the feeling that she isn't telling us something?"

"You picked up on that too huh?"

Amberle fussed and reached out of me, without hesitation I grabbed her and cradled her soothing her.

"I'm not sure if we should push it however."

"I agree, let's just let her get some sleep, she clearly needs it, when she wakes up we can try and...persuade it out of her."
