In the quiet aftermath of a tragic accident, the small town of Mystic Falls found itself enveloped in yet another silent calamity. The bridge, often a quiet place for reflection, had turned into the scene of a harrowing event. YN, attempting to save her friend Sammy, ended up watching helplessly as the girl's fingers slipped through her own, her body crashing into the cold, dark waters below.

Now, wrapped tightly in a blanket provided by Sheriff Forbes, the Lockwood girl sat shivering not just from the cold, but from the shock and the weight of what had just happened. The night air was crisp, carrying with it the whispers of fallen leaves and the distant calls of nocturnal creatures, a stark contrast to the turmoil churning inside her.

Tyler, upon receiving the frantic call from Sheriff Forbes, had raced to the scene, his heart pounding with dread and fear for his sister. As he approached, he could see the flickering lights of the patrol car illuminating his sister's pale, distraught face. She looked up as he neared, her eyes wide and haunted.

Sheriff Forbes stepped aside, giving Tyler room as he knelt beside his sister. The look in YN's eyes was one he recognized all too well-the raw, unguarded fear of one who had just experienced the traumatic trigger of their family's curse. It was a look he had seen in his own reflection not so long ago.

Without a word, Tyler wrapped his arms around YN, pulling her close. The initial stiffness in her body melted away as she collapsed against him, her sobs muffled by his jacket. Tyler felt her pain acutely, remembering his own first harrowing night, the confusion and fear that had gripped him. He knew what lay ahead for her, the struggles, the learning, the adjustment to a new and terrifying reality.

"It's going to be okay, YNN," he whispered softly, stroking her hair in an attempt to soothe her. "I'm here."

YN clung to him, her breaths gradually evening out as the initial shock began to wear off. The reality of what had happened to Sammy, and what had happened to herself, was a lot to process. Tyler didn't press her to speak, nor did he delve into the inevitable conversation about her new reality. There would be time for that later. For now, his presence was a silent vow of support and understanding.

Sheriff Forbes watched the siblings from a distance, her expression a mix of sympathy and professionalism. She had seen much in her years as sheriff, but the personal tragedies of the town's young residents always hit hardest. She made a mental note to give the Lockwoods children some space but to check in on YN later. Such events could unravel a person, and YN would need all the support she could get.

As the night deepened, the bridge bathed in the glow of the patrol car's lights, Tyler continued to hold his sister. Words were unnecessary; their shared experience spoke volumes. Though the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, YN wouldn't have to face them alone. Tyler was determined to guide her, to protect her, just as he wished someone had been there to guide him when his own curse had been triggered.

Not too long after, their mother's car rolled to a stop behind the flashing lights of Sheriff Forbes' cruiser, the sight of which caused Carol's heart to seize with dread. Despite the late hour, the bridge was bathed in light, the blue and red hues casting eerie shadows across the scene. As she stepped out, her eyes immediately found Tyler and YN-the former cradling the latter in a protective embrace that spoke volumes about the gravity of the situation.

Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, Carol approached the duo but paused upon seeing the deep, personal comfort Tyler was providing. It was a moment she did not wish to interrupt, understanding the profound bond that crises such as these tended to forge. With a slight nod to herself, she turned to find Sheriff Forbes, who was overseeing the aftermath and coordinating with the emergency services that had arrived to search for Sammy.
