Prologue: About a year after they moved to NYC, Beca and Chloe found a condo just outside of the city. Chloe's voice had gotten much better. She didn't lose her voice that often, and her throat didn't hurt as much. Beca had started selling her music on iTunes. She proved to be very successful. She had a lot of fans, and she was going to have a concert soon. Beca and Chloe continued to stay friends with Anna after Chloe finished her design.
Chapter one
"Hey, Becs," Chloe called from the kitchen of their condo, "what do you want for dinner?"
"Anything works for me," Beca shouted back from the living room in hopes that Chloe would just order Chinese food.
"I'm making pancakes," Chloe said back. "We're picking up Aubrey from the airport in an hour, and then she's coming with us to meet Anna at Magnolia for cupcakes."
Beca smiled. She was happy she's get to have all her friends together in one place eating her favorite food. "Ok," she said. Chloe, Beca, and Anna had frequent girl nights out, but Anna sometimes came over for a movie night. Beca put on her headphones and started working on her new mix. About 20 minutes later, Chloe tapped on Beca's shoulder. "I should have known you had your headphones on," she giggled. As they ate pancakes, Chloe talked about her job. "My new client is this old lady who has no idea what she wants. I don't know what to do."
"Talk her into what looks best. She's old, and she'll believe anything. Instead of going through the normal questions, ask her what her favorite color is or about her grandchildren. Once you get an idea of what she likes, you can design it for her."
"Why do I feel like you're better at this than me?" Chloe smiled?
"I learned from the best," Beca said kindly.
"Oh my gosh we're late," Chloe said as she looked at the clock.
Beca knew Chloe hated being late, so she threw both plates in the sink as Chloe grabbed her and Beca's shoes.
25 minutes later, they were at the airport gates waiting for Aubrey.
"Ohmygod hi!!!!!!" Aubrey screamed as she ran up to hug her friends. "I've missed you two so much!!! So what's new?"
"Well we have a condo now," Chloe started.
"Oh and I got a job and Chloe's voice is doing better."
"I heard about Chloe's voice!" Aubrey said as they walked out of the airport, but I didn't hear about your job, Beca!"
"Oh I started selling my music on iTunes. I'm actually putting on a concert soon."
"Oh my gosh, "Aubrey said, "so you're like really famous!"
"I guess," Beca said.
Chloe interrupted. "We're meeting our friend Anna for cupcakes at Magnolia. Do you want to come, Bri?"
"Ooh I forgot about the best cupcake place in America! Of course I'll go!"
"It's about a half an hour drive so we have to go straight there," Chloe said.
Beca put on the radio as she drove along. The DJ announced the next song. "This is Beca Mitchell's mix of Titanium and Just the Way You Are"
All three girls started screaming!!! Oh my god Beca was on the radio!!!!!
"I'm so proud of you!!!" Chloe screamed in excitement!!!"
Beca smiled and gave a quick glance to Chloe. She didn't want Chloe's voice to get worse since she was doing so well.
"Hey, Becs, can we stop and get some water somewhere? I forgot mine," Chloe said as Beca came to a stoplight.
"I got you covered, Chlo," Beca said as she reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle of water.
"Thanks, Becs," Chloe said with relief, "you're a life saver."
"Is Magnolia good?" Aubrey asked.
"Yes!" Both Beca and Chloe said in unison. "It's the best cupcake place in the world," Beca said as she parked the car.
"Hi," Anna greeted them the second they walked to the table.
"Hi, Anna," Chloe said back. "This is our friend Aubrey. She's visiting from Georgia."
"Hi, Aubrey," Anna smiled at Aubrey.
"Hi, Anna! Its nice to meet you!" Aubrey said.
"So, let's get our cupcake on!" Beca said excitedly.
"Oh, Beca," Anna said, "When I was driving here, I heard your song on the radio!!"
"Oh my gosh!!! I'm so glad you heard it! We were all so excited!"
"What do you guys want?" Chloe asked. "It's on me."
"The usual," Beca said back speaking for all of them.
They all got red velvet most of the time.
"Hey, Gail," Chloe said to the lady at the counter. "We'll take the usual plus one extra red velvet."
"How's your voice, Chloe?" Gail said as she gave her the cupcakes. Chloe was in the cupcake shop so much that Gail practically knew everything about her. "Better!" Chloe said. "Thanks for asking!"
Chloe handed each friend a cupcake and sat down.
"Hey guys," Beca said, "why doesn't Anna come over for a movie night?"
"If it's ok with you, I think it would be fun!" Anna said. "Ben's out with some old school buddies."
"Great," Chloe said as she took a bite of her cupcake!"
They knew this was going to be a fun night.
