Chloe decided not to tell Beca about the cat until she got home.
Chloe put the litter box in the corner, and she put the cat food and bowls on the floor by the counter. She let the cat out and put the collar on. "Here kitty kitty," she called, filling up the bowl with food and water. The cat came right over and ate the food and drank some of the water. Chloe turned on the tv and called the cat. It came right over to her and sat on her lap. She was sure glad this cat was so friendly and sweet with her.
"Hey, Chlo," I'm home, Beca called from the door. "I'm putting your cupcake on the counter then I'm changing."
"Ok," Chloe said. "Come in the living room when you're done. I have a surprise for you."
Beca slipped out of her dress and into sweatpants and an old shirt. She brushed the curls out of her hair and threw it in a messy bun. She finally took off all her makeup and came into the living room. "What's that?" Beca asked, pointing the cat that Chloe was holding.
"This is our new cat," Chloe smiled at the shorter girl who was petting it.
"When did you get a cat?" Beca asked.
"Oh like an hour ago."
"Why did you get a cat?"
"Because the guy who asked me if I wanted a cat was really hot and sweet and he called me a gorgeous ginger because I picked this one that looks like me and we have to name her and it was all a really big blur and he gave me his number and..."
Beca cut her off. "Let's name her Ginger."
"Why?"
"She reminds me of you."
"Aww Becs that's so sweet," Chloe said hugging her friend. "How was your date?"
"It was ok. The movie sucked and it was more like friends hanging out but we had fun. I really only talked to Anna and Jesse only talked to Ben, but the cupcakes were good," Beca said, grabbing Chloe's cupcake from the counter. The cat followed Beca into the kitchen. "Wow, you're a clinger, just like our friend." Beca giggled.
"I picked a good cat," Chloe said proudly. "We have to take her to the vet tomorrow, and I want to go back and see Corey.
"Ooh," Beca said in a singsong voice, "we might be going on a triple date soon."
Chloe laughed at her friend. "Yeah I hope so. He's really sweet, and I hope you like him."
"Chlo, I'll like anyone you like. We're best friends."
"Thanks, Becs, Chloe smiled, taking another bite of her cupcake.
"I'm going to go to bed," Beca said. "I'm exhausted." She flailed herself dramatically on the couch.
"Ok. Goodnight Becs."
"Goodnight, Chlo, goodnight Ginger."
Chloe texted Anna
Hey are you still up?
Yeah I can't sleep
Do you want to come over tomorrow and hang out all day? You have to meet Ginger.

Yeah but only cuz the guy who sold him to me was cute and I got his number.

That's the cutest part. She's orange with blue eyes so the guy, Corey, said that the cat looked like me: a gorgeous ginger with blue eyes. Beca thought of Ginger too.

So can u make it tomorrow?
Actually I was wondering if you or Beca could take me to the doctor to get my new cast. Maybe we can bring Ginger back to my place afterwards. The dogs will be at daycare.
