Beca slowly pulled into the driveway. "Alright! We're home sweet home."
Chloe climbed out of the car and picked up her daughter. "You're about to see your new house!"
"Really?!?" Camila asked excitedly.
"Yep!" Beca smiled at the little girl as she took the keys from Chloe to unlock the door.
"SURPRISE!" A bunch of people yelled as they walked in.
Camila buried her head in her mom's shirt. "Too many people, too scary."
Chloe smiled graciously at her friends. "Thanks so much for this, guys, can you give us a minute?" She took her daughter to the bedroom that was now painted pink. "Hey, it's ok, Camila."
Camila sat up and looked at her mom. "It's too many people, mama."
"Well do you want to meet them one at a time?" Chloe asked sweetly. Camila nodded and Chloe went out to get Anna. "Hey, she's ok, just a little shy. She wants to meet you though."
Anna smiled. "So how are you doing?"
"I'm ok," Chloe lied.
Anna looked her in the eye. "Chlo be honest."
"Ok, I'm not that great." Chloe sighed. "The meds are working, they're just making me really sick. And ever since I broke up with Nick, I'm having all these self esteem issues and it's just one big mess."
Anna put a hand on the redheads shoulder. "Don't worry about it, side effects wear off and you're amazing so just remember that every time you feel down."
"You're the last person I should be venting my stupid problems too, you went through way worse last year."
"Well yeah the cancer was horrible and caused me to lose my babies but I'm still always here for you and I always will be, and you can talk to me about anything. Give me a hug."
Chloe gave a quick hug to Anna. "Ready to meet her?" Anna smiled. "Camila, come meet your auntie Anna," Chloe said.
Camila hid behind Chloe. "Hi," she said shyly.
Anna smiled. "hi there! I'm so so so excited to meet you!" She held out her hand for the little girl to hold.
Camila reluctantly took her hand. "You are?"
"Yeah! I've heard all about you and your mom texted me and told me how sweet you are."
"Oh. So you're my aunt?"
"Yep! So do you want to come in the living room and meet everyone else? You still have to meet Beca's daughter."
Camila followed Anna out of the bedroom but stayed clung to Chloe's arm until Harper approached her. "Hi! Are you Aunt Chloe's little girl? Mommy said I have a new friend to meet."
Camila nodded. "I'm Camila."
"I'm Harper! Do you want to play with me? I have toys in the living room."
Camila smiled. "Yeah!" She ran and played with Harper.
Beca came by her. "Ooh I can tell they're going to be best friends!"
Chloe smiled. "Oh I forgot to tell you while we were on the plane, I applied at the middle school and I got the job! I start next week!"
"That's great Chlo! I'm so excited for you. So you enrolled Camila in school?"
"Yep! She starts next week, same day as me."
"Cool, so you can drop Camila off here and then I'll get the girls ready for school and then I'll drop them off. After school, I can pick them up, take them back to my place, and then I'll come pick you up."
"That seems like a lot, I could just have her go to daycare. It's fine."
"It's no big deal, she's an angel." Beca smiled. "Do you want a drink?"
"Whatcha got?"
"Soda, iced tea..."
"I'll take an ice tea, Becs, thanks. I'm gonna go visit."
"Alright. By any chance have you seen Jesse?"
"No, go ask Anna. She was here before us."
Beca walked to the fridge and handed her friend an iced tea. She met Anna in the living room. "Have you seen Jesse."
Anna smiled. "He's outside setting up a surprise for Chlo and Camila."
"Oh ok, I'll go have a look."
Beca ran outside and saw the backyard had been completely redone with a pool, a trampoline, and a tree house. Jesse stood up. "You're home!"
"Yeah we got back about a half hour ago. This looks amazing, Jess! They're gonna love it!"
"yeah yeah yeah, I just wanna meet my niece." Jesse smiled as he and Beca walked back into the house.
"Jess, wait, she's really shy and scared so please be gentle and super sweet." Beca said nervously.
"Don't worry, babe. Of course I will." Jesse slowly approached Camila. "Hi, Camila, I'm your uncle Jesse."
Camila shyly smiled. "Are you aunt Beca's husband?"
"Yeah."
Harper clung onto him. "He's also my daddy."
"Cool. It's nice to meet you." Camila said.
Jesse walked away to Chloe. "I just met her and she's so so so sweet, Chlo."
Chloe smiled. "Thanks so much. I love her so much. Did Beca tell you I got a teaching job."
"You did? Chloe that's great! When do you start?"
"Next week, I'm just worried that my meds will make me all loopy or something and they already make me really sick soooo."
"Chlo, you're gonna be ok. Don't worry, me and Beca are just a phone call away. The kids will love you."
"Thanks, Jesse, that means lot."
"No worries. So I have a little surprise for you and Camila. It's in the back yard."
"What?" Chloe followed Jesse to the back yard with her daughter. "Jesse, this is amazing! How did you do all this in 2 days? Thank you so much."
"Aw well Ben and Anna and Emily helped me too. I'm glad you like it."
Camila smiled. "All of this is ours?!?"
"Yep!"
Chloe gave him a hug. "Thanks so much for this, Jesse, it means the world."
"Aw you're welcome Chlo. Now go in and celebrate."
Chloe and her daughter walked back inside and are, meanwhile, Beca was talking to Anna.
"So how was Chloe?" Anna asked.
"Not that great, to be honest. She got sick on the plane and she was really upset and then on the way home she was sick again and she was crying and telling me she was worthless and it just broke my heart."
"But she's not worthless. I just wish her self esteem would improve. She's so amazing, and I wish she would realize that."
"That's why she's gonna continue the therapy. I keep telling her how amazing she is, and I hope it helps."
"She seems ok with Camila though."
"Yeah she's really good with her, I'm just not sure she's fully emotionally prepared. I had to explain the car accident to her and everything, but so far, she understands so that's good. I just hope that Camila will be able to understand everything Chloe's going through, but really I hope Chloe explains everything."
"She will, it'll just take some time for her to get used to everything. Well me and Ben gotta run. He has to work and I have to get home and feed the dogs."
"Ok, thanks so much for the talk." Beca stood up and hugged her friend.
"No problem. See you."
