2 weeks later, it was Christmas Eve Eve, and Chloe and Beca had yet to do any shopping, so they had to go. Beca texted Anna.
Hey are you up to watching Harper for a few hours? Chloe and I still haven't done shopping.
Of course. I love my little angel. You can drop her off anytime.
Ok! Thanks so much. She'll be excited.
No problem.
"Hey, Chlo, we're dropping Harper off at Anna's and we're going shopping."
Harper ran into the living room. "I'm gonna go play with Aunt Anna! Yay!"
"Yeah, sweetie. Aunt Chloe and I have to do some shopping."
"But mama, when are we setting up the tree?"
"Oh my gosh! I forgot about the tree and stockings. We'll have a fun night when we get home. Come on Chlo, we gotta hurry."
Chloe came out of the bathroom with a Santa hat on. "Ok I'm ready."
"Chloe take that stupid thing off your head. And give it back to my daughter."
Chloe laughed before placing the hat on the 3 year old. "That's my cutie. Now let's go!" Chloe picked her niece up and carried her to the car.
When they got to Anna's house, she was laying on the couch. Beca looked concerned. "I thought you were feeling ok, Anna."
"I'm ok. It's just a stomach ache and chest pains."
"I don't want to cause you too much trouble."
"No, I'm fine. We'll have a great time, right Harper?"
"Yep!" Harper giggled
"Ok, but seriously, call me if you start feeling worse."
"Ok."
Beca and Chloe left, and Harper took her shoes off. "Aunt Anna! Wanna have a fashion show?"
"Of course I do, Angel! You know where to find the clothes and shoes! I'll wait here!"
Five minutes later, Harper came out of the room in full costume. Anna smiled at how cute the little girl was. "Come sit on the couch and I'll do a princess hairstyle."
Anna cornrowed her hair and put it into a messy bun. "Harper, Angel, I know Christmas is in 2 days, but I got you something today!"
"What?" Harper smiled curiously.
"There's a bag in my bedroom. Can you go get it for me."
Harper ran into the room and came back with a purple bag. "Can I open it?"
"Of course!"
Harper opened the bag and there was a tiara in it. "Thank you Aunt Anna!"
"Now you can be a real princess!" Anna put the tiara on the little girl's head. "What song do you want to walk the runway to?"
"Let it go!"
"Ok!" Anna pulled up the song, and Harper danced around the living room until the song ended. "It's about 12:00, sweetie, do you want some lunch?"
"Yeah!"
Anna slowly got off the couch. "What would you like to eat?"
Harper knew Anna always made soup, when she came over, so she said soup. "Of course I can make you soup."
Anna got a bowl of fruit out of the fridge. "You want some fruit while I'm making soup."
"Yeah!"
Anna's phone rang. Of course it was Beca.
Hey, Becs!
How are you feeling?
A lot better, actually. I'm making lunch.
Ok. I was just checking to see if you're ok.
Yep we're all good. How's shopping?
Good. We're looking at clothes now.
Beca and Chloe came over a few minutes later. Harper ran and gave her mom a hug. "Momma, Aunt Anna got me a tiara!"
Beca smiled. "That's so pretty. Thanks so much, Anna."
Chloe looked at her niece. "Hey, Becs, you're the queen, so she's the Princess. Princess Harper Jade Mitchell-Swanson."
Anna laughed. "Ben saw it at Charming Charlie when he was getting me my perfume, and he said he wanted to get it while it was still there. She looks so cute in it. Let's just say it's an early Christmas present."
"Well thanks, An that was nice. We should probably get going. We have a lot to do."
"Thanks for letting me watch her. I feel a lot better!"
When they got home, Harper played in her room until it was time to put the ornaments on the tree. Beca and Chloe had spent an hour setting up the tree. It was a fake tree, where you had to put all the fake branches in yourself, and it was really time consuming, but it ended up looking really nice. Chloe had wrapped the tree in lights, and then she made Beca put the tree skirt on Because she could fit under the tree. The tree skirt was Charlie Brown, because that was Chloe's favorite cartoon as a child, and it was the only thing she had from Minnesota. Beca didn't like Charlie Brown, but this meant a lot to Chloe, so she decided to take one for the team. "Harper, sweetie, it's time to decorate the tree."
The little girl ran out of her bedroom. "Hey, mama, will I see daddy soon?"
Beca smiled sadly. She knew the little girl wanted to meet her daddy. "Yes sweetie, he's coming over tomorrow night, and so are Aunt Anna and Uncle Ben."
"What about Aunt Aubrey?"
Chloe smiled. "Well it was going to be a surprise, but I guess I can tell you. Aubrey's coming too!"
"No way, Chlo! You're seriously the best."
"She hasn't been here since last Christmas, and we've only flown out there once, so I invited her up here." Chloe smiled. "Harper, you're gonna see Daddy and Aunt Aubrey!"
"Yay! That was all I wanted for Christmas!"
Harper's sweet words made Beca's heart melt, and she teared up. "I'm glad, sweetie."
"Momma are you and daddy gonna get married?"
"No sweetie," Beca said. It made her upset knowing her daughter had thought of that. "We don't see daddy very often."
"Ok mama. Can we have some pizza?"
"Chlo, it's about 6 o'clock. I think we should order a pizza."
Chloe pulled out her phone. "I'm on it!"
After the pizza came, the girls ate in front of the TV while watching The Polar Express. After that, Harper went to bed, and Beca and Chloe watched Elf, which had been their Christmas Eve Eve tradition since college. Then they went to bed. Tomorrow was a big day.
