Beca had an ultrasound, so Jesse took her and Chloe watched Harper. She was used to the whole process and everything was good. They decided to go on a date, since the appointment went so quickly. They were already in nice clothes since Jesse had just gotten off of work and Beca had a press conference for her new album.
Jesse pulled out a chair for his fiancé. "After you my dear," he said, bowing.
Beca giggled. "You're such a dork, but thanks."
He smiled. "That is why you're marrying me baby."
Beca giggled again. Jesse could turn her heart to mush. "Yep! You're my big dork, I'm your little dork, and Harper and the baby are our little dorks."
Jesse smiled. "Harper's a beautiful little girl. I'm so proud of you for raising her so well these past years. She's going to grow up and do great things just like her mommy."
Beca smiled. "Thanks Jess. I had Chloe as help. Chloe's been a good influence on her, and she loves her so much."
"Chloe's so excited about having a baby, I can tell, Beca. She's nervous though, and I know you know that. You're nervous for her too. I see the way you look at her when she has morning sickness or she's worried about the baby. Why don't you say anything?"
Beca sighed. "I don't know. I don't know what to say, I guess. Chloe's so sensitive. I don't want to scare her or anything."
Jesse grabbed Beca's hand. "Just talk to her, Becs, you're her best friend. She needs you to be there for her. She gonna be raising the kid on her own, and she knows nothing."
"Ok, I'll talk to her. Thanks, Jess, I'm just worried about her. I know she'll be a great mom, she's just a little overwhelmed at the moment."
"Ok. I'm glad."
The waiter came by and took their orders. Once he left, they got back to their conversation. Jesse smiled. "It's nice how close you are with Chloe, you know, to always have someone to talk to, she's always there for you and you're always there for her."
Beca played with Jesse's fingers in her hands. "I don't know, I feel like I'm not there for her. I'm always so busy, and I haven't helped her with her pregnancy at all, and she helped me so much when I was pregnant with Harper."
"Beca, trust me, you're there for her. She knows you try, believe me."
"Thanks, Jess. I want her to know I'm there for her."
"Then talk to her. You know the time I saw her happiest was when you had her onstage with you 4 years ago, and you told her how much she meant to you. Her 32nd birthday is coming up. Why don't you do that again? I think it would mean the world to her."
"Oh my god, that's a great idea Jess, thanks so much!"
"No problem, baby."
Beca leaned in for a kiss. "I love you, Jess."
"I love you to Becs!"
They ate the rest of their meals and went home, so Beca could go shopping with Chloe.

Beca and Chloe were walking through a maternity store, picking out clothes. Beca agreed on getting a pair of shorts this time, just make Chloe happy. "Ugh fine. Hey, so your birthday is coming up....have any ideas on what you want?"
Chloe smiled. "Nope! I already have everything I want."
Beca rolled her eyes. "Every year, Beale I swear to god. So I was an idiot and scheduled my next concert on your birthday, so I thought we could do a party in the afternoon backstage with the girls, and then we could do the concert and you could sing with me."
"Aww that would be nice, Becs. Thanks so much! What about Anna?"
"She's on vacation with Ben all of next week so we're celebrating with her tomorrow. She feels bad that she can't make it, though."
"Aww I'll text her. I feel bad that she's upset."
"I think she's fine. She really needs some time with Ben. She's been so down since the miscarriage."
"Ok. Yeah I'll call her."
"How are you feeling? Let me know if you need a break."
"I'm fine, actually. How about you?"
"Great!" Beca said. "But seriously tell me what you want for your birthday."
"I don't know, maybe clothes I guess."
"I'll take you on a shopping spree!"
"That would be fun! Thanks, Becs."
"No problem! Now let's go eat something because I'm starving, and I'm sick of looking at clothes."
"Ok!"

Beca and Chloe sat at a table in the food court waiting for their number to be called. "Hey, Chlo," Beca asked, "is everything ok? You don't seem like yourself."
"Yeah," Chloe shrugged with a frown as Beca went to get their food.
She handed a burrito to Chloe. "No, it's not, I can tell somethings up. I know you Chloe, we've been best friends for 9 years. I think i know when something's wrong, so what's up?"
"I don't know," Chloe said. "I'm just really scared about the baby. What if things don't go well, and I don't even know how to be a mother."
"You'll be great, Chlo. You're an amazing aunt to Harper. You were always there when I was an emotional wreck, to the point where I didn't come out of my room for 2 days. You're so close with her, and that's what you do, Chlo. You build the most amazing relationships with people, and they love you for it. Your child will love you for it."
"Thanks, Becs. But I'm not like you. You're so cool, people look up to you as the girl they want to be just like. They don't do that with me."
"Are you kidding? I'm just the alt girl who's always listening to music and shutting people out. You're that gorgeous girl who talks to everyone and gets along with everyone. You're amazing, Chlo, stop doubting yourself so much. I'm sure you'll be an amazing mother....and ugh fine I'll do this for you...an aca-amazing mother."
"Thanks for that, Bec. For everything. That's so sweet of you. But thanks, I'm not so worried anymore. You're good at this sort of thing."
"No problem. Now stop worrying so much. You'll be fine."
