Chloe woke up at 7:30 and hopped in the shower. She had to leave around 8:45 to pick up Anna. After she ate breakfast, she straightened her hair. She did her makeup then sent Beca a text.
I'm taking Anna to the doctor to get her new cast. I didn't want to wake you. We'll probably go for lunch and we'll be back around 12:30 to pick you and Ginger up. We're going to Anna's. Text me if you want coffee.

Chloe drove to Anna's house. "Hey," she said.

"Hey," Anna called from the bathroom. She was curling her hair. Chloe walked into the bathroom.

"Oh my gosh! The one day I straighten my hair is the one day you curl your hair. It looks amazing!"

"Same to you," Anna said as she unplugged her curling iron and hopped over to the shower, where she was balancing her crutches. "Ready to go?" She asked.

"Yep," Chloe said, walking behind her friend. She helped Anna into the car, and they drove off.

"Oh, I should warn you, they use a blade to cut the cast off." Anna gave a worried glance at Chloe. She knew Chloe was already pretty afraid of the doctor.

"Oh I know. I broke my ankle in Freshman year of college. I'm terrified of the blade. I'm going to face the other way when they cut it off. "

"That's funny. I figured you'd be terrified."

"What makes you think that?"

"Oh nothing, you're the type of person who seems afraid of gory stuff."

"It's like you stare into my soul." Chloe giggled as she got out of the car and helped Anna. "Hey, get a white cast. Beca and I have a surprise."

"Cool!" She said as Chloe opened the door for her. When Anna and Chloe got into the room, Chloe started freaking out. "Chloe, relax, I should be more scared than you." Anna giggled sarcastically.

"No it's just I'm so afraid of knives. It's really bad. I can't cook unless Beca's home and I can barely keep my shit together at restaurants."

"Oh my god, you're so overdramatic," Anna giggled as she magically hopped one footed onto the examining table."

"You're athletic goals," Chloe said. "I'm dead serious."

"You could probably do this too if you couldn't use your dominant leg." Anna shrugged.

"Hello, I'm doctor Laine," a middle aged woman said, interrupting the girls.

"Hi," Anna said. "I'm Anna, and this is my friend Chloe."

"Hi," Chloe said.

"So today all we're doing is getting you a new cast and checking out your leg." Doctor Laine said. She pulled out the saw machine.

"Hey, Anna," Chloe said nervously, "would you be ok if I stepped out of the room for this part?"

"Yeah no problem." Chloe ran out of the room.

"Is your friend nervous?" Doctor Laine asked.

"Yeah she was freaking out," Anna said. To be honest, Anna was mentally freaking out too.

"It'll only take a second," doctor Laine said as she quickly ran the blade through the cast. "See, we're done."

"Chloe she's finished," Anna called.

Chloe came back into the room. "Thank god," she said.

"Let's take some quick x-Rays," doctor Laine said as she moved the X-ray camera closer to Anna. The button flashed and the pictures appeared.
"They look exactly the same," Anna said.

"They do," the doctor said. "We might have to do surgery if the bones don't start growing back together.

"Oh my god," Chloe said.

"We can put a full leg cast on for now and see if that works," the doctor said. "You'll have to keep your leg propped up at all times, and you can't be without your crutches. It will probably be harder to use them too."

"Anything besides surgery," Anna nervously giggled. Doctor Laine started wrapping Anna's leg.

"What color did you want?"

"White," Anna answered. Chloe smiled. She was so excited to decorate the cast. When the doctor finished wrapping the cast, she helped Anna off the table. Chloe handed Anna her crutches and they said thanks to the doctor. Once they got outside, Chloe looked at her friend. "How are you doing?"

"This sucks," Anna answered on the verge of tears. "It hurts so much worse and I feel like I'm going to trip and fall."

Chloe hugged her friend. "I'm sorry," she said. "You want me to pull the car up?"

"Yeah."

"Ok I'll be right back," she said, giving another hug to her friend. "Hang in there." Chloe got the car as quickly as possible.

"You're going to have to sit in the back so you can prop your leg up."

"Ok."

Chloe helped her friend into the car. It was a difficult process, way more difficult than before. Finally, Chloe drove off. "Do you want to food?"

Anna laughed in pain. "Yeah I guess. Food is always the answer."

"Well I was going to suggest Olive Garden, but I think it'd be easier to go to McDonalds." Chloe chuckled.

"Yeah."

Chloe could tell Anna wasn't in the mood. What do you want from McDonalds? It's on me."

"Chicken McNuggets. Thanks, Chlo."

Chloe went through the drive through and they ate their food in the parking lot. She texted Beca.

Hey, we're going to pick you up in ten minutes. Leave Ginger at home, I don't think Anna's up to it.

Is she ok?!?

Yeah it's a long story. Bring the sharpies though.

K bye

Bye.

Chloe started driving back home. "We're just picking up Beca, then we'll go back to your place."

"Ok," Anna said.

Chloe ran up to the door to pick up Beca. "Hey don't be a sarcastic little shit today. Anna's not in the mood."

"What happened?" Beca asked

"There was no difference in the X-rays from last week and the ones from this week so they had to put her in a longer cast."

"Like how much longer?"

"Her entire leg"

"Oh my god that really sucks," Beca said. She climbed into the car.
