Chloe had her pajamas on and she was curled up on the couch drinking a cup of tea. Beca walked into the living room with her pajamas on and sat next to Chloe. "Hey, you feeling any better?"
"A little," Chloe said innocently as she moved over closer to Beca.
"Well thankfully, Harper's allergic to chocolate soooo I'm gonna go through her candy when she gets back and all the chocolates ours."
"NO WAY! That's torture, she can't eat chocolate?" Chloe's eyes widened until she burst out into a laugh. "Poor kid."
Beca laughed really hard. "Yeah, and the neighbors, they give out some good stuff." Her expression got serious. "Have any ideas of how you're going to get through this?"
Chloe gave her a weak smile. "Chocolate, for starters. But for serious, I think writing really helps me, I started writing after I woke up from the coma, it just calms me down a lot. And I don't know, really, how I can face this fear without actually going out. I'm so scared something is going to happen to me."
"Chlo, nothing is going to happen to you, I won't let anything happen. You're my little red panda, and I'm going to be by your side and protect you through all of this. It's gonna be ok." Beca wrapped Chloe in a tight hug. "It's just agoraphobia, and maybe therapy would help, I don't know."
"I really...that's a last resort for me. I really don't want to do that." Chloe took a deep breath.
"I know Chlo, but it'll help you. We'll see how the writing goes. I just want you to get through this, ok?"
Chloe finally pulled away from the hug. "Thanks, Beca. I think I can get through this, and knowing you'll be by my side will definitely help a lot."
"Good," Beca said with a smile as she rubbed her friend's leg. Chloe yawned and rubbed her eyes. "You tired, Chlo?"
She nodded. "Yeah."
"Ok, lay down for me and ill bring back some candy."
Chloe laid down where Beca had been sitting. "You'll come back in a few, right?"
"Yep." Beca quietly slipped out of the house and went back to her place to find all the chocolate candy on the counter with a note from Jesse. Figured you'd come back looking for the chocolate. I took Harper to McDonald's. Text me if you want anything. Hope Chlo is feeling better. Beca smiled like an idiot at the note. Her husband was so cute. She brought the bag of candy back to Chloe's and found her asleep. She sat down next to her. "Haha you're so cute, Chlo," she whispered quietly.
She gently stroked Chloe's hair until she rolled over and her head was on beca's lap. "Hey, Beca."
"Hey, Chlo," Beca said quietly.
Chloe laid there for a few more minutes before sitting up. "So you brought that candy over?"
"Yep! Want some?" Beca handed her the freezer sized bag filled with chocolate. "What's your favorite?"
"Nooooooooooo. Beca," Chloe whined. "That's impossible. I guess 3 musketeers."
"Mine is Milky Way. So what do you think, Chlo? It's a nice night, why don't we go watch the stars?"
"I really don't want to go-"
"Just on the deck outside?"
"I-I guess. Can we bring the chocolate?"
"Of course." Beca stood up and linked hands with Chloe, and they walked out to the backyard. Beca sat down on the chair next to Chloe's and noticed how nervous she was. "It's ok. We're safe here."
Chloe nodded and started taking deep breaths. "Can we go inside now?"
"Chlo, come on we just got out here. Listen to me, ok? You're going to be ok. I'm here with you. This is your back yard. I'm not letting this fear take over your life." Beca turned her chair towards Chloe and sat crosslegged. "Because no one wants to see this little ray of sunshine named Chloe Harper Beale change. You're too perfect to change."
Chloe smiled sadly. "I don't want to see me change either. Thank you."
"You're welcome. It's just these fears can change you, and I don't want to see you put your walls up. I do that, Chlo, and you know that. You were the first person to bring those walls down. I don't want to see yours go up."
"They won't. I promise, Bec. I don't want you to go through what I went through bringing your walls down."
"What did you go through."
"It was so hard, when you wouldn't open up to me. I was so frustrated."
"Sorry I put you through that."
"It wasn't your fault, you didn't know me."
"Yeah, I guess."
There was an awkward silence between them before Beca laughed. "This isn't like us."
Chloe smiled. "I know!" She looked out into the stars and Beca smiled.
"Your eyes look really pretty in the moonlight."
"Do they?" She answered without taking her eyes off of the stars.
Beca smiled. "What's your wish?"
"I wish it could stay this way forever. What's yours?"
"I wish I'll never see my red panda change." Beca smiled.
"Thanks, Bec. So we should probably stop eating this chocolate before we get sick."
"Yeah. It's getting pretty late. I think I'm gonna go get ready for bed. See you tomorrow?"
"Can you stay, Bec? Please?" Chloe said quietly.
"Sure. Come get ready for bed with me?"
Chloe stood up and walked back into the house. "Beca, this was nice, thank you."
"No problem, Chlo. Go get ready for bed. Maybe we can watch Hocus Pocus. I'm gonna go brush my teeth. I'll be back in a few."
"Ok."
Beca slipped quietly into the house and found Jesse in the living room playing his guitar. "Hey, Beca bear, how's Chlo?"
"Better, she wants me to stay over and watch Hocus Pocus. Is that ok with you?"
"Of course! She's so lucky to have a best friend like you."
Beca smiled. "I'm lucky to have her, too. I'm just gonna brush my teeth."
"Ok."
Beca came back a few minutes later. "Thank you, for being so supportive of me. I know I haven't spent much time with you lately, I've been trying to help Chloe and I feel really bad but I promise you and me can go out soon."
"No worries, Bec. Chloe needs you right now. Have fun watching your movie."
"Thanks, Jess. Love you."
"Love you too."
Beca came back and saw Chloe fiddling with the DVD player in her bedroom. "Dammit, Bec, how do you work this thing?"
Beca rolled her eyes. "You put the DVD in and you press play dumbass."
Chloe giggled then sat down on the bed next to Beca. "This is one of my favorites!"
"I prefer Halloween but oh well."
"NOOO. That's terrifying. I could never watch that."
"Or It, that's a good one too." Beca smirked.
"Stop it!" Chloe slapped her on the arm. "Let's just watch Hocus Pocus and never speak of horror movies ever again."
"Ok." Beca laid down on the bed and started watching the movie. Chloe did the same but fell asleep within 10 minutes, cuddled into Beca's side. "Goodnight, Chlo." She whispered, almost inaudible while stroking her hair and falling asleep.
