Beca had been sitting in the hospital room with Chloe for 5 hours, and she was starting to get impatient. "Come on and wake up, Chlo, I just want to hear your voice again." Beca squeezed her hand. "I still can't believe you're going to be ok!"
She sat for a few minutes holding Chloe's hand until she felt a squeeze back. "Chloe?" Chloe squeezed her hand again. "Oh my god, you're waking up!"
Beca pressed the button on Chloe's bed and waited for Erin to come in. "Erin, she's waking up!"
"How do you know?"
"She keeps squeezing my hand!"
Chloe's eyes fluttered open, and Beca started crying tears of joy. "You're ok! Chloe I'm so happy to see you again an-"
"Where the hell am I? Who are you? What happened to me?" Chloe was terrified.
Erin gave her a warm smile. "Well, Chloe you were an an accident, and you have amnesia. Do you remember anything?"
"No, but who are you?" She asked, trying her best to look at Beca.
Beca's happy tears turned sad when she discovered her best friend didn't recognize her. "I'm Beca. We've been best friends for 10 years."
Chloe started freaking out. "Well what happened? Am I going to be ok? I'm in so much pain right now and I don't know anything."
Erin smiled. "It's ok, Beca will help you." She gave them a quick smile and walked out of the room.
Chloe tried to sit up and Beca was by her side getting her to lay back down. "Chlo, a lot of things are broken, please just lay down so you can heal."
Chloe laid back down. "What's my name?"
"Chloe, but your nickname is Chlo. You're 32 years old and you live in New York. We are best friends, and we have been for 10 years. We're like sisters."
"How do I know for sure?"
Beca pulled out her phone and opened her album titled Beca & Chloe she scrolled through the pictures for Chloe. "I would never lie to you."
"Ok...I-I believe you. Just, what happened to me? I'm in so much pain right now."
"You were in a car accident with our friend Emily. She's ok, just a dislocated shoulder, broken knee, and broken ribs. You fell in a coma, Chlo. You have a broken arm and leg, head trauma, and whiplash. I'm really really sorry about what happened, and it's horrible what you had to go through."
"Whiplash can leave you paralyzed, can't it?" Chloe got really nervous.
"Yeah...and the doctor said it's pretty bad. We're not sure how it's going to work out yet. The worst will be the amnesia. I'm not sure if your memory will come back, but I'll be by your side until you can figure things out. I don't know if you'll be in a wheelchair or what, but we'll figure it out. We always do."
"When do I get to get out of here? I hate hate hate hospitals."
"I'm not sure, but they're probably going to keep you for at least a few days. I'll be here every second I can, but right now, there's a bunch of people in the waiting room waiting to see you, so I'll go get Anna."
"Who's Anna?"
"She's our best friend. She's super nice, I'm sure you'll like her."
Beca brought Anna back a few minutes later. Anna sat down next to Chloe. "Hey, Chlo, so Beca says your memory is gone."
"Yeah, so Beca said your name is Anna?"
"Yep! We've been best friends for about 6 years."
Beca smiled. "She stayed here all night with me. Do you wanna see some pictures? Maybe they'll help your memory."
"Sure," Chloe sighed.
"It's ok, everything will be fine," Beca gave her a warm smile.
She showed Chloe all the pictures. "This is from my wedding, this one if from one of our girls nights, this one is from when I had Harper-"
"You have a daughter? You're married?"
Beca smiled. "Yep! I named her after your middle name, and me and my husband Jesse just got married 2 days ago. We've known Jesse since college."
"Can I meet her?"
Beca smiled. "Yep! I'll go get her! She loves you so much."
Beca went in the waiting to get Harper. "Hey, baby girl, Aunt Chloe wants to see you, but she doesn't remember you, so you're going to have to introduce yourself."
"Ok, mama, is she feeling ok?"
"She's in a lot of pain now, sweetie, but we're all trying to make her feel better. She'll be ok."
Harper followed her mom into the room. "Hi, Aunt Chloe! Are you feeling better?"
"Not really, but your mom and her friend are helping me!"
"Aunt Anna?"
"Yep. So you're Harper? You're named after my middle name!"
"Yeah! So you can't remember anything?"
"No, but I think I'll be able to soon. Until then, your mom is going to help me."
Beca smiled. "Harper, Daddy is going to take you home so you can get some sleep. I'm going to stay here with Chloe tonight. Love you."
"Love you too mama. Feel better, Aunt Chloe."
"Thank you, sweetie."
Chloe relaxed back into the bed after Harper left. Anna stood up. "Well I should get going, I'll be here tomorrow morning. By, chlo. Hope you're feeling better. By Becs."
"Bye," they said in unison.
Chloe relaxed back into the bed for the second time. "Everything hurts, Beca. Please do something."
Beca rubbed her arm. "I know everything hurts. It'll be ok, I promise you'll start to feel better tomorrow."
"Ok," chloe sighed. "So are we sisters? Or does she just call me aunt Chloe?"
"No, we're not sisters, I feel like we're sisters though, and so did you. Whenever we would go out together, people would either think we were sisters or a couple, and you loved it. You would always hold hands with me and cute stuff like that."
"Were we ever dating?"
"No."
"Could we ever date?"
Beca laughed. "Sorry, Chlo, I'm married, and you have a boyfriend."
"I do? Can I meet him?"
"He's gonna come back tomorrow morning, Chlo. It's almost midnight."
"Ok. I can't get comfortable with this neck brace."
"I know, maybe you can start therapy for the whiplash tomorrow. I don't know what their doing with it, but it'll definitely help. Now try to get some sleep, ok?"
"Beca, will you stay with me?"
"I would never leave, Chlobird."
"Chlobird," Chloe repeated. "That's cute! I like it!"
"Good. I'm Beca Bear, Bec, or Becs."
"So you have nicknames for your nickname?"
"Yep! You're the person who started Becs and Beca Bear. I love it. Now try to get some sleep, I promise I won't leave, ever."
"Ok, thank you Becs. I don't remember you but I can tell you're an amazing person to have in my life."
"Aw thank you, love you Chlo."
"Love you Becs."
