Beca awoke to a bright room and Chloe sitting on the chair next to her. "Hey, sleepyhead."
Beca sat up and groggily rubbed her eyes. "What time is it?"
"3 o'clock silly. Jesse went grocery shopping for you so when you get home tonight, you can relax a bit. Harper went with him."
"Oh, how was last night?"
"Fine, Harper slept in my bed with me. She didn't want to sleep in the guest room."
"Haha sorry about that," Beca giggled.
"Nah, it's fine. How did you sleep?"
"I barely got any, I missed my babies. I can't wait to take him home tonight!"
"I'm so excited for you! So do you want to eat something? I can run down and get you something."
"Nah, I'm good for now. When do I get out of here?"
"2 hours I think. Are you feeling ok?"
"Yeah, I really wanna get out of here. I feel great, actually!"
"That's good. I managed to go in the car without you. I'm so so so happy."
"Wow, Chlo, I'm proud of you!"
Chloe's phone buzzed and she picked it up. "It's an email from the adoption agency!"
"Click on it! What's it say?!?" Beca asked excitedly.
"I GOT ACCEPTED! I HAVE A DAUGHTER!!! I just have to...fly...to London, to pick her up and fill out paperwork...by next week... I can't fly. It's too much for me."
"I'll go with you, it'll be ok. Chlo, you can't pass up this opportunity. Please go. Please? I'll go with you, I promise I won't leave your side."
"O-ok, I mean I really want this, more than anything. It's worth it."
Beca sat up and gave her a hug. "This is so cool! You're going to be a mom! This is what you've always wanted! And she's going to have a cute little British accent!"
"I know! I'm so excited! So Jesse should be back in about an hour. The doctor talked to me and said I could take you to visit Michael."
"Great, lemme change into actual clothes real quick. I'll have to use the wheelchair, won't it?" Beca had a disgusted look on her face.
"Yep, sorry, Bec." Chloe gave her a sympathetic smile.
Beca got changed and Chloe wheeled her to the NICU. Beca started crying happy tears. "He's so beautiful, Chlo. He's my first baby boy."
Chloe kneeled down next to Beca and gave her a hug. "Aw Bec, I'm so happy for you too. I can't wait for a few years when our kids are best friends and everything and it'll be so nice."
"We're both starting families, Chlo, and it's wonderful. I'm so happy."
********************************
An hour later, Jesse was pushing Beca and her son out of the hospital in a wheelchair. Chloe and Harper were walking hand in hand next to her. Jesse helped Beca into the car. "Thanks Jess. I can't wait to get him home and feed him!"
Jesse gave her a kiss. "I'm happy too. Chlo, you'll have to sit in the front since we don't have enough room in the back."
"O-ok. I-I'll be ok." Chloe took a deep breath and held Beca's hand when she got in the car.
Beca lightly stroked Chloe's hand. "Hey, so i was thinking, you're still terrified of cars Chlo, and it's been 6 months now, and I think your anxiety is getting worse, so maybe you should think about maybe going to a therapist before we fly to England, just to see if there was anything we could do to help you."
Chloe nodded. "Yeah, I think that would be good. I'll set up an appointment. You'll come with me? Right?"
"Of course I would. I doubt you would want to go without me."
"I wouldn't be able to go without you."
"Haha that's what I thought. You wanna come over for dinner tonight?"
Chloe laughed. "I was gonna come anyway but sure!"
Jesse laughed. "You're always welcome, Chlo. I'll go out and get something for us to eat."
Beca rolled her eyes. "What were you doing at the store for an hour then?"
"Looking at baseball stuff, duh. I may have gotten distracted and we ended up going to sports authority and Toys R Us but in the bright side I got Harper a doll." Jesse gave her a guilty smile.
"It's fine, just, go out and get carry out. I'm starving." Beca sighed.
"Alright, I'll help you 4 inside and then I'll go."
After they were inside, Jesse left to get carry out and Beca started feeding the baby. Chloe looked up from her phone. "Is everything ok with you and Jesse?"
Beca's eyes shot up at her best friend. "Yeah, why wouldn't they be?"
"You kinda snapped at him, I could tell he was a little taken aback."
"Oh, yeah we're ok, I'm just a little stressed with everything lately."
Chloe held her hand. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"I guess," Beca sighed. "So I've been really worried about you ever since the accident. I'm afraid something is going to happen again, that's why I've never left your side, and I'm so worried your anxiety will get worse. It's killing me to see you so nervous all time. The morning before I had the baby, when you were so calm and I'm such a good mood because I was dancing was so nice, I saw the old Chloe for a minute, and it was the best. I love the old Chloe. And I'm just worried I won't be able to handle 2 kids. Jesse's always traveling for work. I really don't want to have to raise them alone. I'm so worried he's going to leave."
"Bec, he won't leave you. He loves you way too much. You've been married for 6 months, not even a year, he wouldn't leave just like that. Please, Bec, don't worry about me. I promise I'll be ok. The therapy will help a lot and having my daughter here will help too. I'm gonna be ok, don't worry about it."
Beca smiled. "Ok. Thanks so much Chlo, You know how worried I get about you. I know you're gonna be fine. I'm just so stressed and everything but I'll be ok. I'm really excited for you with your daughter and everything. You're going to be an amazing mom."
"You really think so?"
"I know so. I'm gonna let Michael sleep a little bit. Let's see if we can find something to eat. Jesse should be home soon but I'm starving." Beca laid the baby down in his crib and helped Chloe off the couch. "So did you set up a therapy appointment yet?"
"Yeah, tomorrow at 12, can you come?"
"Of course, Jesse will be home to watch the baby. And then next weekend we go to London?"
"Yep! I still have my passport from Copenhagen. Do you have yours?"
"Yep! I'm so excited!"
"Me too. I can't wait to be a mom. I think it'll be really good for me
To have more responsibilities. Maybe to get my mind off the accident a little bit. It's all I've been thinking about lately.""Yeah, I get it. It's all I've been thinking about too. I just want for you to have a happy life. You've been through so much lately."
"Thanks Bec. Oh i think Jesse's back. Do you want help with dinner?"
"Sure!"
After dinner, Beca walked Chloe back home. "So I'll pick you up at 10:30 tomorrow."
"Yep. Thanks for dinner, it was nice. It's so great to feel like a part of your family."
"You ARE a part of OUR family. Chlo, you have literally not left my side for 10 years. You are the best family anyone could ask for. I love you so much. Ok? See you in the morning."
"I love you too Bec. See ya." Chloe gave her a quick hug and went inside.
