Chapter 17: Just Hanging Out

It's a Saturday and after a long tired week of school everyone needed a break. So Iris, Bella, Lily, and I decided to have a sleepover in Bella, Iris, and I's dorm.

We sat in a circle on the floor as Lily painted our nails.She painted mine first, a navy blue with gold accents. Iris' went next and hers were painted sky blue. At the moment Lily was painting Bella's nails, a rainbow color. Lily's nails were already painted lime green with flowers.

"So how's it going with James?" I ask wiggling my eyebrows.

Lily looks at me, " He's fine, great actually. He's really grown up from the little brat I met in first year."

I laugh, "You couldn't even stand to be in the same room as him"

"Really?" Bella states, "The way you two are... I would've thought you were together forever."

Lilly shrugs, "Mackenzie is right. I couldn't stand him up until last year."

"He finally wore you done then," Iris adds.

Lily finishes Bella's nails and eaves us off, "Yeah. Yeah. Enough about my love life, what about yours?"

The three of us look around anywhere in the room but at each other. Our cheeks tinged a light red. It's awkward up until I break the silence. "There's this one guy I like..."

"Maize's got a crush!!" Bella teases.

"Tell me more. Tell me more. Like does he have a car?" Lily adds and we all stare at her confused. Lilly shrugs, "It's a muggle thing.

"Ignore these weirdos," Iris states, "So who's the lucky guy to catch your attention?"

I take a deep breathe, "Charlie Wood."

"GRIFFIN WOOD'S LITTLE BROTHER?" Lily exslims.

I blush, "Yes. That's him."

"Aw. He's a cutie," Bella adds.

Iris just shrugs, "Eh, I've seen better."

I cross my arms, "Oh yea? Who's your crush then?"

Iris looks down before replying, "Jgbm Gabf"

Lily smirks, "Excuse me could you repeat that?"

Iris huffs, "Fine. I like Jackson Grace. Happy?"

"Very," Bella smirks.

"Shut up Freckles. Who do you like then?" Iris snaps.

Bella smiles and replies confidently, "I like Jake Daniels."

"Woooo you like older men?" Iris teases.

"He's only two years older." Bella protests (Bella is 14 and is turning 15 this year because she has a late birthday but she's still born the same year as Iris and Mackenzie).

"Still," I tease and Bella hits me with a pillow.
