Chapter 23: The Ball

Third Person

The date of the ball quickly arrived and the castle was abuzz with excitement. Most of the girls were scarfing down their breakfast so they could get ready for the dance as soon as possible while the guys weren't even going to bother to get ready until 1 or 2 hours before.

"Come onnnnn Maize." Bella wines.

"We have to get ready." Iris agrees.

"The ball is in like ten hours chill." Mackenzie responds and continues to eat her waffles.

"You have 5 minutes." Lily states with her arms crossed.

"I don't get why all you girls are sooo excited for this." Sirius says flicking a grape at James.

"Hey, I am not most girls," Mackenzie exclaims.

'How could we forget," James rolls his eyes.

"It's a way for girls to get attention and be pretty." James says with a mouth full of food.

He earns a slap on the arm with a book from Lily for that comment.

"Balls are romantic and magical. And the dresses are gorgeous." Iris gushes.

"Ok still don't know why we have to take almost a whole day to get ready. It's so stup-." Mackenzie was cut off by Lily yelling "TIMES UP!" Resulting with Bella and Iris dragging her out of the great hall.

"Help I'm being kidnapped!" Mackenzie yells.

"Have fun!" Sirius calls back.

"Some brother you are." She mutters.

"Don't worry we will bring you food." Hollers James.

"Ok let's shower each of us gets thirty minutes at the most to shower. Bella you first." Lily instructs.

Time skip

"It's been five hours can I eat yet?" Mackenzie groans.

"No we just did you hair and make up. If you eat you will ruin your makeup."Bella responds and swats Mackenzie's hand from eating a chocolate frog.

There is a knock on the door and Marlene walks in carrying food. "Sirius and James sent me up here to give you guys food?"

"Gimme. Gimme. Gimme." Mackenzie says greedily.

"Here." She says practically throwing the food at the hungry girl and leaves.

"Great I have to redo your makeup now." Bella whines as Mackenzie stuffs her face with a sandwich and chocolate frog.

Time skip.

"AHHH, we have 5 minutes!" Iris screeches, "How do I look."

"Fine." Mackenzie says putting on her shoes.

"What are you wearing?" Lily screams and points at Mackenzie's shoes.

"You said I had to wear heels," Mackenzie says boredly.

"Those are not heels!" Lily argues.

"Yes they are," Mackenzie says smugly, "It's a compromise. Since you wouldn't let me wear converse I found a pair of converse wedges. And last time I looked wedges were heels."

"Ok. It's time to go down. Remember one at a time." Bella informs as they head to the stairs.
