Seeing each other for the first time in a long time... (675 words)

(Taylor's POV)

---

"How the hell did my car get totaled!?" I screeched as I was stepping out of Target and stopped in my tracks.

"I told you, S/N! You didn't know how to parallel drive yet!" I heard someone yelling at their sister and groaned, "oh great! Now we have to pay for someone's car job..."

The sister came out of the car and grimaced at her older sister. I walked to where they were and talked to them.

"It's not a big problem! I can get it to the auto shop in a few minutes since I have a day off..." I smiled as I gently tapped the person's shoulder and they turned around.

"Taylor Leier!?" She softly yelled out in a surprised tone. "Is that you?"

"Wait a minute, Y/N!? Is it really you?" My eyes widened as soon as I realized who it was. "It's been a long time since I've seen you and S/N!"

"Yeah, she's been learning to drive and she's getting ready for her driver's test...Listen, we're so sorry that we hit the bumper of your car."

"Y/N, it's not a big deal! It was just a minor bender-fender and nobody got hurt, relax will 'ya?" She started to blush and I playfully punched her in the shoulder, just like the old days. "Anyways, what are you guys doing here in Philadelphia all the way from Saskatoon?"

Y/N chuckled lightly as she looked at me, "Our dad got a job transfer to Philadelphia a few years ago while you were in Portland and I currently go to college at UPenn and I live in an apartment with a few of my friends. I heard you're playing for the Flyers..."

That time, it was my turn to laugh and I shook my head, "I played 6 games with the Flyers this season, but I primarily just play for the minor affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms up in Allentown, which is about 65 minutes away from here."

"Ahh, that's cool." She smiled as she played with the car keys she had in her hands.

"Hey! How about we go to Starbucks and have some coffee?"

"Sure! I think we'd love that. Right, Y/N?"

S/N nodded her head, "it wouldn't hurt!"

---

"Oh my god, I thought you weren't going to bring that up again, Y/N!" I groaned, resting my head on the table in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry! It was a funny moment to reminiscent on..." She giggled and raised her hands in innocence. "Anyways..."

There was a moment of awkward silence when S/N interrupted to say that she was going to buy something that she was out of, leaving Y/N and me all alone....

"So..." I started out in a confused tone and I heard Y/N giggle.

"Taylor, you don't have to be nervous, relax!" She rested her hands on the table and gently grabbed mine in hers. "Dear, I think I know why S/N left us alone..."

"You don't think I could, do you?"

"I don't mind at all, Leier."

I leaned over from my seat and gently yet sweetly kissed her, not paying attention to the neighboring people all around us. As soon as I pulled away, we let our foreheads touch and we smiled and looked into each other's eyes.

"I love you so much, Y/N L/N." I whispered to her and she smiled.

"I love you too, Taylor Leier." She kissed my lips and we both smiled before I heard S/N come back to the table.

"Okay, you guys can stop now!" She giggled and we immediately pulled away with our cheeks heating up. "Are you guys finally a couple now?"

Y/N looked at me and I nodded my head, "Yeah, S/N, I think you could say that Y/N and I are dating..."

She squealed and went on and on about how she wanted us to get together. I looked at Y/N and whispered to her that I loved her and she reciprocated the action.
