What does it stand for... (490 words)

"Why does it hurt so much..." I mumbled as I felt the stinging pain of needle poke my skin. Eventually, the needle-poking had stopped and the artist had allowed me to go. Thanking them, I went to the front entrance and paid them before I left the building to go back to my house.
Yes, I had just gotten a tattoo of a hockey puck, a medium-sized one because I didn't want it to be that noticeable. And it was located on the inside of my right wrist, just cause... My boyfriend, Darcy, had been off to hang out with a few of his teammates for lunch and that's when I had the tattoo completed on my wrist.
As soon as I got home after getting the ointment and the non-scented lotion from a local pharmacy, I immediately rushed into the house to find him sitting on the couch and watching a few episodes of "Friends".
"Hey, honey! How was lunch with the guys?" I asked him as I made a dash to the bathroom to gently peel off the padding and apply the ointment.
"It was good, actually! How was your afternoon?" Darcy hollered at me as I peeled the bandage off and started to wash the tattoo with hand soap.
"It was relaxing yet painful..." I replied back to him as I had started to apply a tiny amount of the ointment on the tattoo and it hurt like hell.
"Painful? Were you playing dodgeball or something?" He asked me with a hint of confusion in his tone.
"Not exactly..." I said as I exited out of the bathroom and walked into the living room, where he was currently situated at.
Sitting down on the couch next to him, he made a weird face at me and I looked confused at him.
"What?" I asked him and shrugged my shoulders as he was contemplating about why I had said painful.
He had caught me looking down at my wrist and looked at in awe.
"Y/N...Did you get a tattoo?" He spoke in a quiet whisper as he observed the tattoo on my wrist and I nodded my head.
"Yes, but it's not a major one...It's just a hockey puck." I shrugged my shoulders and he nodded his head.
"Now, I understand why you said painful. Any special reason of why you got the tattoo?" He had asked me as he turned the TV off and focused on me.
I cracked a smile at him and shook my head in amusement, "because I love the sport and it's what my boyfriend plays..."
He rolled his eyes in a sarcastic mood before he shook his head and let out a giggle, "you are so cute, Y/N..."
"What a romantic gesture, Darcy..." Now it was my turn to act sarcastic towards him, but I smiled at him anyways. "I love you."
"I love you too."
