CHAPTER 56

"Let's eat!" sigaw ni Lea.

Pumalibot kami sa mesa kung saan nakalatag ang pagkain. Nagkwento sila kung paano nila nakuha ang mga gulay na kinakain namin habang sinasabing masarap palang magluto si Mikki.

I didn't join the conversation though, i just listened to them and watched Mikki's reaction in every compliments she'd received.

"Huy" siniko ako ni Camille. "Nilalangaw na yang pagkain mo"

Bumalik ako sa pagkain pero hindi ko talaga maiwasang hindi tumingin kay Mikki. Her smile has a big impact in my system, nagwawala pa rin ang sistema ko hanggang ngayon. I bit my lip and shifted my gaze to my plate when she caught my eyes. Then i looked at her again, she's shaking her head and not looking at me anymore. Then there's Kerr beside her, literally feeding her.

I sighed.

Hanggang tingin na lang talaga ako.

I fixed my eyes on my plate. I stood up after i've finished my meal at umupo ako sa mga batuhan sa gilid ng falls. Nagsimula na ring magsiligo ang mga kasama namin.

"Uupo ka na lang ba dyan?" tanong ni Hans sakin.

Umiling ako saka tumayo at hinubad ang tshirt ko at nakisabay sa kanilang lumusong sa tubig. Malamig ang tubig nakakarelax.

Napatingin ako sa mga nakaupo sa batuhan at nakita ko si Mikki na mag-isa lang. I looked around to search for Kerr and i saw him with Lea na naliligo na din. Lumapit ako sa kanya.

"Join us" sabi ko.

And ofcourse, she didn't respond. She just stared at me with a creased in her forehead. Then her gazed went down on my body. I stepped back and hide my chest with my arms as an adrenaline rush.

"H-hey!" i hissed as i've felt the awkwardness due to her stares.

She leaned forward and extended her hand. I gasped when her hand reached my chest and i was rooted on my spot when i realized she's already holding my necklace that i always hid beneath my shirt.

She frowned as she examine the crystal pendant.

"Who gave this to you?" Mikki suddenly asked.

"Si Lea" i replied. "Wala naman sinabi si Lea sakin tungkol dito sa kwintas basta binigay niya lang ng walang dahilan" paliwanag ko.
Ewan ko kung bakit ako nagpaliwanag, maybe because i can see the curiosity in her eyes.

Tinitigan pa niya ng matagal ang pendant bago bitawan ito at tumitig ulit sakin ng nakakunot pa rin ang noo.

"You're weird" sabi niya bigla.

Ha? Ako pa ang naging weird? Tss.

Napailing na lang ako at napangiti habang nakatitig sa kanya. Why, hindi siya nakakasawang titigan.

"You're always staring" she commented.

I was taken aback. I didn't know she'd noticed. I bit my lip, unable to get any coherent words for response.

She raised her eyebrows and titled her head as she stared at me, intently.

"Why?" she asked.

Instantaneously, my heart beats fast thrice its normal pace. And my nerves wrecked as anxiousness crept through my system.

Why i am staring at you?

Because that's the only thing i can do. Spoiling my eyes whilst breaking my heart.

I heaved a sigh and averted my gaze. I can't say it aloud, ofcourse. I bit my lip as i ran my fingers through my wet hair.

"I.. im not" i said breathlessly.
