MISS NOT PERFECT

CHAPTER 31

Ivan's POV

Fate made it's way.

We've crossed our paths again, even like a deja vu.

We're studying the same course and now we're classmates in all subjects we're taking for this sem. And just like when we were on grade school, we were elected as class officers. Me as president and she is as vice, again.

Will it be the same just like before? I bet not. I'm not stupid anymore.

I came early and I saw her approaching her seat beside mine. I smirked and greeted her but I got no response.

I heaved a sigh.

"Why is it hard for you to greet back?" I asked.

She looked at me, frowning.

Atleast, she's turning her head to look at me now, at least.

The professor came in and start discussing. I kept looking at her from the corners of my eyes from time to time. She's too focused listening to our boring professor, then she sighed and propped her elbows on her desk and rested her chin on her palm.

I can't stop myself from watching her. There's a slightest changes on her actions.

I'm doing the same thing everyday. It became a routine, to check her actions and I wasn't surprise of how consistent she really is. Just like before when we were still very young.¹

"Pwede mo ba akong samahan?" Ella asked.

I nodded.

I wonder why Ella suddenly came back here to study.  For all I know, her family migrated in L.A and she went back here all by herself.

Sinamahan ko siya sa library. I helped her looking for a history book. I was caught off guard when she attacked me.

"A-anong ginagawa mo?" tanong ko.

"Ssshh"

Hinawakan niya ang magkabilang kamay ko at ipinulupot sa bewang niya.

"Help me dump my stalker"

"Ha?"

"Andrew. Oh Gosh! He's been following since kaninang umaga" she explained, so I did what she asked for.

We pretended to kiss each other. From the corner of my eyes, I saw a man immediately stood up and walked out of the library. But when I turned my face on my right, I saw Mikki passing us by.

"Go ahead" she said.

I got shocked. I never thought she would see us on that position. I feel like I cheated on her. Heck! She's not even my girlfriend so why do I feel so guilty about being caught in the act?

"I'll go ahead" I said.

But Ella suddenlygrabbed my hand to stop me. I looked at her frowning.

"Do you still like Mikki?" she asked.

I smirked. "I'd liked her to be my friend before. That's it." I replied casually.

"You said so" she said unconvinced.

I shrugged it off and turned my back on her.

Everyone thinks I liked her. Yeah. I liked her. But that was before. Nine years ago to be exact. And I was only freaking seven years old then.

Months had passed. Mikki became the center of attention, that was all started when Mikki portrayed the role of Juliet.

I've heard the rumors and saw the video. I didn't believed it, really. But I made a mistake again. I sounded like accusing her when in fact, I just wanted to know if it was true. How stupid of me.
