Maaga akong nagising at nagmadaling bumaba para magluto.

"Bakit bigla mong naisipan magluto anak?" nagtatakang tanong niya.

I smile at her. "I just realized that I need to learn this Nay" I said.

Binalik ko ang focus ko sa paghihiwa ng carrots. Nagoffer ng tulong si Nanay Lotty pero hindi ko siya hinayaan, I just need her to watch me and instruct me what to do.

"Ano pong lasa?" kinakabahan na tanong ko habang pinapanood si Nanay Lotty na tikman ang niluto ko.

She nodded and smiled at me. "Pwede na"

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. I think it's a good sign for my first step.

"So?" tumingin sakin si Lea. "Anong plano mo?" bulong niya sa tabi ko.

Nakatitig lang ako sa likod ni Mikki. May iilan na din kaming classmate na nandito sa loob ng classroom. Iinisip ko kung paano ko ba ibibigay kay Mikki ang niluto ko. Nakakahiya kasi.

I sighed. Tumingin ako kay Lea. "Paano ko siya masosolo mamayang lunch?" tanong ko.

Lea arched her eyebrows and smirked. "I can't believe this" sabi niya habang umiiling pa.

I frowned. "Bakit?"

"Why change of heart of all a sudden?"

I sighed again and shook my head. I don't want anyone to know that im scared of losing her. Not now. Not when she's not mine yet.

Lea tapped my shoulder and stood up. "I'll text you" then left.

I leaned my back against my seat and Camille sat beside me. The class started.

I was just staring at Mikki's back while thinking of ways on how to give the pack lunch i made for her without embarrassing myself.

Really. This was exhilarating yet nerve-racking. I heaved a sigh when i heard our professor saying adjourned.

Mikki stood up, I followed suit. She stopped when Lea blocked her way, so i stopped too. I saw Lea smirked at me then she looked at Mikki and grabbed her wrist and dragged her. I followed them until i found myself at my favorite place, the rooftop.

"Enjoy! Bye!"sigaw ni Lea habang papalayo at kumakaway pa.

Napailing na lang ako at napangiti hanggang sa magtama ang mata namin ni Mikki. I rubbed my nape and bit my lower lip then averted my gaze. Kinakabahan ako at nahihiya. Ngayon lang ako nahiya ng ganito.

Binalik ko ang tingin kay Mikki and she's already walking away so I grabbed her arm to stopped her. She looked at me and a creased on her forehead formed.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "I brought packed lunch" i said.

She stared at me and raised her eyebrows. I raked my fingers through my hair and bit my bottom lip then sighed again. I scrumbled through my backpack at inabot sa kanya ang tupperware. Tinitigan niya muna ito ng matagal bago kunin.
I smiled. "Let's eat?" tanong ko.

Hindi ko na siya hinintay sumagot dahil alam kong hindi naman siya sasagot kaya hinila ko na lang siya sa may gilid kung saan malilim at kinuha ko yung karton na ginagamit ko kapag natutulog ako dito at nilatag sa sahig at pinaupo si Mikki. Naupo ako sa semento sa tapat niya at nilabas ang packed lunch ko. Inabutan ko siya ng kutsara. "Sorry I forgot the fork" I looked at her and she's staring at me, with a creased on her forehead.
