MISS NOT PERFECT

CHAPTER 50

As soon as I realized that it's really Mikki, umalis agad ako dahil hindi ko ugaling makinig sa usapan ng ibang tao. I've done it last time and it doesn't feel good.

I've walked to my car but didn't start the engine yet. Hihintayin kong dumaan si Mikki. Hindi ko na kasi makita ang kotse ni Kerr. Hindi din naman ako naghintay ng matagal dahil natatanaw ko na si Mikki sa hallway na mag-isang naglalakad.

I expected her to stop and sit on the waiting shed but she didn't and just continue walking until she'd reached the main exit.

Mabilis akong lumabas ng kotse ko at patakbong sinundan siya. I won't let her use a cab alone.

I grabbed her arm and dragged her back inside the school. Tumigil kami sa tapat ng kotse ko bago ko siya bitawan.

She's frowning and narrowing her eyes on me.

I sighed and brushed my hair using my fingers.

"Get in. Ihahatid na kita" sabi ko saka binuksan ang pinto ng passenger's seat.

Mikki being herself didn't move and just stared at me.

"Please" i said. "Delikado magtaxi mag-isa kaya hayaan mo na kong ihatid ka"

Without uttering a word, she get in the car with a sigh.

Napangiti ako bigla. Parang ang tagal naming hindi nag-usap though technically ako lang yung nagsalita pero ang gaan pa rin sa pakiramdam.

Silence.

This is a thing that normally happens when you're with Mikki. Silence occupied almost all the time when you're with her. And im used to it already.

Every second, i always look at her from the corners of my eyes and promise, it isn't easy! I saw her sighed while glancing at the window. She looked like she's in a deep thoughts. I want to ask but i don't have guts to do so. Our friendship's just starting and very fragile. I don't want to break the only way to be with her so i keep my mouth shut.

I stopped the car in front of their house. She just thanked me before climbing off the car.

I sighed before i started the engine again.

Saturday.

It's supposed to be relaxing day since there's no classes but today is different after waking up and seeing few people inside my room singing a happy birthday song.

I even forgot that it's my birthday!

"Mag-ayos ka na dyan birthday boy. Maghihintay kami sa labas" sabi ni Hans.

Isa isa silang naglabasan. Inisa isa ko rin silang tinignan, nakita ko si Lea pero wala si Mikki.

"Sinong hinahanap mo?" Napatalon pa ko ng bahagya ng makita ko si Greg na nakaupo sa may study table ko. "Hulaan ko, si Mikki? Wala siya e. Ayaw niyang pumunta"

Hindi ako sumagot at umiling na lang.

Lumabas na din si Greg at naiwan ako sa magisa sa kwarto ko. Naligo ako at nag-ayos kahit hindi ko alam kung aalis ba kami o dito lang. Masyadong unpredictable kasi ang mga kaibigan ko, hindi mo malalaman kung kelan susumpungin ng pangangati ng paa.

"Here goes the birthday boy!" Lea shouted as she popped the party popper.

I smirked.

I don't celebrate my birthday, my friends did it for me every year. Dati lima lang kaming nagcecelebrate ngayon nadagdagan na ng dalawa. Si Lea at Maycy. Mikki is too much to ask for, though.
