CHAPTER 69

"I'll convince her. Magplano ka pa rin please. Remember you've promised! You wont give up!" sabi ni Lea.

I shook my head. "Wala naman akong sinabi na mag-gigive up ako, pero hindi tama to. Ayokong magdate kami kasi napilitan lang siya" sabi ko.

She sighed. "You have a point. But i still have plan b, c, d, e, f, g.. and so on and so fort, so.. let's do the plan b" she stood up and dragged me inside the library where Mikki was staying.

We sat acrossed her but she didn't removed her eyes on the book she's reading. Tumingin ako sa katabi kong si Lea. She grinned at me and handed me a piece of paper.

I frowned when i saw it but she just winked at me when i looked at her. Napailing na lang ako at nagdalawang isip kung ibibigay ko ba to. Naisip kong hindi ko na pala kailangan mag-isip dahil ibibigay ko talaga to dahil gusto ko. Imposibleng ayawan ko to. It's Mikki im talking about here.

Siniko ako ni Lea saka sinenyasan na ibigay na. I took a deep breath then stared at Mikki. Napangiti na lang ako bigla, ewan ko ba, ganito na talaga ang epekto sakin ni Mikki. Isang tingin ko lang sa kanya, nawawala na lahat ng sakit na nararamdaman ko. Naramdaman ko ang pagsiko ulit ni Lea sa tagiliran ko kaya napatingin ako sa kanya. She raised her eyebrows and pointed Mikki. I sighed and looked at Mikki again then smiled again. Iaangat ko palang ang kamay ko para iabot sa kanya yung maliit na papel nang bigla niya isara ang libro at tumayo.

"We're gonna be late" sabi niya saka kami iniwan ni Lea.

"Ang bagal mo kasi. Tsk. Make sure you'll give it to her before the class ended. Let's go" sabi ni Lea at tumayo na. I followed suit.

Sa classroom, nakatingin lang ako sa likod niya, as usual. Mamaya, pagkatapos na pagkatapos ng klase, ibibigay ko to sa kanya. It's just an address and time. Mamaya ko na itatanong kay Lea kung saan to matatagpuan at mamaya ko na lang rin paplanuhin ang lahat. Sa ngayon, kailangan kong maibigay to.

"Ajourned" sabi ng prof.

Mabilis nagsilabasan ang mga kaklase ko, Camille just nodded at me. Tumayo ako at lumapit kay Mikki na kasalukuyang nag-aayos ng gamit. "Mikki" She didn't glanced at me. I took a deep breath and handed her the note. She stood up and stared at the small piece of paper i was holding and accepted it. Para akong nabunutan ng tinik nang tanggapin niya yun.

Basta na lang niya nilagay sa loob ng bag niya yung papel saka nagsimulang maglakad palabas at iwan ako.

I sighed and followed her.

"What do you think?" tanong ni Lea pagkababa namin sa lugar na napili niya.

I looked around and smiled contentedly. Tahimik ang lugar, mahangin at walang tao dahil mataas ito at private property ito nila Lea. May overview ng city kaya sure akong magandang magstay dito kapag gabi.

"Thank you Lea" sabi ko.

She jokingly punched my arm "Just make her happy, yun lang at bayad ka na"

I nodded and smiled at her "I won't promise but i will" she smiled back.

Hinatid ko siya sa kanila, sumilip pa nga ako sa bahay nila Mikki at nagbakasakali na makita siya but to no avail. Pagkauwi ko, kumain agad ako at ginawa ang mga dapat gawin bago ko sinimulan magplano para sa sabado. Thursday na kasi ngayon, friday na bukas, meaning, meron na lang akong bukas para aksyunan lahat kung effort ang pag-uusapan.

Lea didn't asked me about the plan, instead, she offered me help in case i needed. I thanked her ofcourse. Kahit na walang kasiguraduhan na darating si Mikki, pageeffortan ko to. Stay possitive lang pero wag masyadong umasa. Mas masakit ang kapalit nun.

"Ready ka na?" asked Lea.

I took a deep breath. And ended the call. Lea just checked if im already here. I didn't ask for a help to anyone. I want this to be done on my own para mas memorable, kaya sana.. Sana lang, sana dumating siya.

Mikki's POV

I looked at the photocard and read the quote at the back.

"The happiest place isn't somewhere you have to spend your money with, the happiest place is where you just sit contentedly, beside the man you love"

I placed my palm on my stomach. No butterflies. I shifted my palm on my left chest. Fast heartbeat.

I sighed. I looked at the photocard again. I don't like it. I shoved it inside my bag and i saw the small note from Lance.

"Trixinity. 4pm" i frowned.

Tita Trixie's Garden?

I looked at the time, 4:30 pm. My phone rang.

["Where are you?"] Lea asked over the phone.

"House"

["What?! You ditched Ivan?"]

"I don't know how to go there" i said.

["Oh, great! Ang tanga ko. Sige, labas ka na, ihahatid kita. Wait! Don't tell me hindi ka pa bihis?"]

I didn't answer. She cursed. The call ended after telling me to get dressed immediately.

I took a shower and got dressed. Lea dragged me to her car and drove fast. "Sana nandon pa yun, you're 2 hours late"

I didn't answer. I forgot about it. Tss.

The car stopped and Lea stared at me. She smiled at me. "He's still here. Ayun yung pick up." She pointed the car. "Be happy Miks, Go! Baka naiinip na yun" She said.

I stepped out the car and followed the path. It's already dark but i saw lights at the center of the garden. I walked ahead and saw Lance standing, looking at the citylights. I stand beside him and looked at the overview. I felt him moved so i looked at him, he was shocked and just stared at me, like i was a ghost.

I frowned.

A smile was curving slowly on his lips. Then without a word, he pulled me closer and hugged me.

"Akala ko hindi ka na darating. Thank you" he whispered.

I took a deep breath.

I felt fast heartbeat, but it's not mine.

Still safe, i guess.
