Through it All

Chapter 12

Amber is waiting on an update from BG as she putters around their house. She is planning on telling him that she wants to start a family but the thing he isn't going to like is that she wants him to quit touring. She isn't about to be a single parent. He will be pissed and buck her for a while but he will give in. She thought she could deal with his life as a country music singer but she can't. She hates the touring and the publicity that goes along with it. She wishes she could talk to Cheyenne and she could if she had went with BG. She just didn't understand why it was so important to get there for him. She likes Robert and Cheyenne but they intimidate her. Cheyenne is so strong and never needs anyone and she can't understand how she is like that. Amber's phone starts ringing it is BG , so she answers it.

A- hey baby how's Robert?
BG - he's gone Amber. I called to let you know and to tell you what I need you to bring me when you head out in the morning.
A- Brant I'm not coming tomorrow. I have to work , I'm sorry baby.
BG - What the hell do you mean you aren't coming ?!!!! one of my best friends just died and I need you. Not to mention his wife is one of your best friends. Have you gone crazy what is wrong with you?!!!!
A- Brant I just can't come it won't work with my schedule. Tell Cheyenne I'm sorry.
BG- I feel like I don't know you right now, this is our family. Not to mention I just lost someone I love as much as I love Kolby if you won't come for Cheyenne at least come for me. I need you Amber...
A- I have already told you I have to work, so quit acting like a spoiled brat and get over it.
BG- You know what, fuck you Amber , I'm going to send Kolby after what I need. Whatever the hell your problem is you need to get your shit straight before I get back home.

End of conversation.

BG pulls up the photo he took of Cheyenne and Robert and posts it to all his media pages with the caption" BG Nation please keep Cheyenne and her family in your prayers. We just lost a great man one I consider my brother. A love like this is what we should all hope to have."
He then texts Kolby and asks him to go to his house and get a couple of things that he forgot and to bring Hoss with him. Kolby asks if he is okay and BG tells him no but I have to be for Cheyenne. Kolby texts back that the whole band is wanting to come could BG secure them all rooms at the closest hotel. BG tells him that he has them all rooms at the Holiday Inn right off the interstate. BG is at a loss because he doesn't understand what is going on with Amber. None of this is like her but hechascto put it on the back burner to deal with helping his family the next few days.
BG looks up from his phone and sees that Nate has waltzed back in and is heading for Cheyenne. BG gets up and makes his way to where Cheyenne is standing. Nate pulls her into a hug and tells her he is sorry. That was all it took for BG to lose it. BG pulls him off Cheyenne and tells Nate that he needs to step back. Nate looks at BG and says I'm here for my friend like I have always been and you are the one who needs to step back. BG just growls at Nate and says boy you don't know who you are messing with. Robert couldn't stand you and I know the feeling is mutual on your part. So right now I can't do what I want to and that is whoop your ass because I know that would just tear Cheyenne to pieces and that is not what she needs. So I'm just giving you fair warning that I am watching you and if you step out of line cop or not I will kick your ass. Have I made myself clear. Nate looks at him and grins steps closer and says I'm ready whenever you are but if you knew what I knew about Robert you would be wanting to kick his ass just like I wished I had done 2 years ago when I had the chance. But I will respect Cheyenne because I care about her and she doesn't need us in a pissing war. She needs support and strength and that is one thing that we can agree on.
The funeral home came and took Robert's body and made arrangements for the family to go at 9 am in the morning to finalize everything. Robert's mom and dad said they would like everyone to come back to their house. Cheyenne said that was fine with her and would everyone tell that was where they needed to bring food. As they start to leave the men from the plant come back and request a meeting with Cheyenne she agrees and they offer her a settlement for Robert's death and accident. She was expecting this as it was one of the things that her and Robert discussed. They offered her $50 million dollars and they would pay for the medical and funeral expenses. Cheyenne also demanded that they keep insurance on her and her children for as long as they wanted it. They agreed to that stipulation and they set up a memorial scholarship for an athlete at Choctaw High school. The money was divided $10 million for each child, and $1 million for each of the following his sister, his parents, his niece and his nephew, her parents and her brother. $14 million for Cheyenne. They agreed to the terms and said they would have the papers drawn up for her to look at and sign in the morning at 10am. She agreed to stop by the plant at 10am.
Robert's mom had Ace cornered when Cheyenne got out of the meeting and as she is walking over she over hears her telling Ace that she is dissapointed in him for wanting to play a game that didn't mean anything on the day that they were going to bury her son. That was it Cheyenne had enough, she looked at Robert's mom and told her not to bring it up again that if she did she would regret it. That Ace was doing what Robert asked him to do and if she couldn't support that then she would be very dissapointed when she no longer was included in their lives. Cheyenne took Ace said go with Garrett and Mason and I will see you back at the house tonight. Get away from all this! Ace looked at his mom and told her that he promised dad to take care of her so he couldn't do that. Cheyenne told Ace she had enough protectors right now and motioned to BG and Nate and her parents. Ace said if your sure mom she told him she was and that if she could run away for a while she would too. Everyone starts to head out the doors and Cheyenne realizes she doesn't have her car that she came with Nate. She heads toward B and asks can he give her a ride to get her car. B tells her of course he can. Nate comes up and tells her he will talk to her later that if she needs him to let her know. Cheyenne just nods her head and tells him Thank you. Sierra and Ellie walk up to BG and tell him to take Cheyenne to get something to eat to get her away from their grandparents for a while. He tells them that he has got to go by the hotel and get rooms for the band as they will be there in about 3 hours . Sierra tells him to get her mom and Ace one because she don't think they need to be at home in the house tonight. He said he would and walks to his Ford Raptor and helps Cheyenne in the truck. Before they pull out of the parking lot she has went to sleep. It has been a very long day and she is facing a long week.
