Chapter 37

BG POV

The Indians won the first game with Ace getting a walk off single in the bottom of the 7th and then lost the second game so it required a 3rd game on Saturday. Track meet that morning and baseball again that evening. Then the party at Cheyenne's house that we have yet to tell her about. I plan on telling her at the track meet or actually Sierra Ellie and Claire plan on telling her. I have Kolby and the band building a stage at her place after we leave for the track meet. I plan on debuting our duet tonight with her if she doesn't kill me. Several of our Nashville friends are coming in for support and bringing one of the press guys with them. So I am a little nervous and hope I haven't messed up.   Ace is a little nervous this morning and we talk and he settles down. We arrive at the track and get our stuff out and set up. Cheyenne is talking to Jake and he is filling her in on the drama that happened the day before with one of the runners. Janie comes up and is talking to them when Sierra, Ellie and Claire walk up which surprises Chey. She hugs the girls and asks what is up that they are there. They all smile at her and look at me and Sierra said we will let BG explain. Cheyenne looks at me with a questioning look. I explain that the kids contacted me and wanted to throw a party at your house as a welcome party and thank you party for all those that have supported y'all this past month. She grins and says that's a great idea. I look at her and tell her that we have several friends from Nashville are coming down and that they plan on playing music so Kolby and the band is building a stage as we speak. She grins at me but then it dawns on her that there is something I am leaving out. Cheyenne asks" B what are you not telling me?" I said well I am going to sing and we are going to debut Let it Ride. I felt that the first time we sing in front of a crowd should be a smaller crowd and one where you would be more comfortable.  Chey hugs me and tells me thank you, then turns around and invites everyone that is standing there to the party. She looks at the girls and says I hope y'all have the food taken care of and they hug her and sayid course we do mom. Now to go watch Ace throw the javelin before he has to leave to play baseball. He has already qualified for state next week in both of yesterday's events. He does okay and we have to hurry to get to the game. They end up losing but was so close to winning. Ace is heartbroken and so is Cheyenne. Now I'm not sure this party is going to be a good idea although I am very curious to see what our friends in the music business think of our duet and chemistry. They are starting to arrive at the hotel and letting me know.

Cheyenne POV

I can't believe that my kids and B pulled off this surprise party. It is going to be a great time for all of us. I am getting nervous about singing with B. I mean this is going to have major music stars here to listen to us. I wish I could make Ace feel better. It is times like these that I miss Robert. I'm afraid that I don't measure up. Ace had a great game and gave it his all. On the way home he told me that he was okay that it just wasn't meant to be and that he had done his best and that was all he could do. He said he would focus on track and try to help win a state title next week. He just amazes me. Right now him and B are outside talking . They have a special bond and I am glad that B is here for him since Robert is gone. He cannot  take Roberts place but he can help Ace navigate the next few years as a role model. The girls have everything under control they tell me. They sent me upstairs to take a shower and get ready for the party and my music debut. As I am laying my clothes out I hear a knock at the door and I tell them to come in. I look up and it is B, I can't help but smile. I ask him what's up and he comes over and sits down on my bed and pulls me to stand between his legs. I look at him and he pulls me to him so that our heads are touching. I get lost in his eyes, it's like they can see all the way to my soul. He reaches up and kisses my lips and runs his tongue asking for entrance . I can't deny him so I open my mouth and his tongue delves in my mouth. As we kiss he pulls me even closer and my arms go around his neck. I get weak in the knees and have to pull back to breathe. He continues to give me tiny pecks on my lips and neck. I pull back and look at him and he gives me that panty dropping smile. He tells me that everything is setup and everyone is getting ready that the band and Kolby had left to go to the hotel and would bring everyone else back with them. The kids had everything set up food was done and just waiting to be taken out when it was time. I asked him what I needed to wear tonight since it was to be our debut and he said the girls has my outfit picked out for me that it was hanging in my closet. I went and looked and they had me a baby pink sundress with a brown belt and brown cowboy boots.  B came to the door and asked what I thought and I told him I loved it that they all did good.  He places his arms around my waist and asked me if I was nervous. I told him that I was a little that I don't want to embarrass him in front of his friends and coworkers .

BG POV

I can't believe this woman is mine and wants to see where we will go. I love her so much, she is my best friend and has been there for me this last month dealing with Amber and my divorce. When I kiss her I get lost. She affects me like no one ever has and it scares me. I know that she must be nervous so I ask her. She tells me that she doesn't want to embarrass me in front of my friends. I tell her that there is no way she will embarrass me that the ones coming in might but she wouldn't. She smiles at me and looks up and says if you are sure B. I bend down and kiss her on the lips and tell her to get ready and I will be back in an hour to bring her downstairs. As I turn to walk away she smacks me on the ass and when I turn around and growl she winks at me. That woman is going to be the death of me I'm afraid.
