Chapter 65

BG came in the bus and asked if she was ready for sound check and she said I guess. He pulled her in his arms and said baby it's gonna be fine. You did this live on TV. She looked at him and said I just want to make you proud. BG kissed her and said you always make me proud! They headed over to the amphitheater hand in hand and she watched from the side until he called her up John handed Cheyenne her mic as she walked up. They started playing the music to Let it ride and they started singing. BG stopped them and said turn her mic up. They started again and he stopped and had them adjust something. Then he had them play Hurt so Bad and they started singing it . BG was pleased with how it sounded. Cheyenne walked over to the side and got a bottle of water and drank some then walked out to BG and gave it to him. Justin and his band come up and watch and they play Small town Throwdown BG stops them and calls Justin on stage and Cheyenne too. Let's do this one together tonight. Cheyenne tells BG no not this one it's a guy song and it needs to be y'all. BG said okay. Her phone goes off and she runs to take the call, it is Ace and he said my scores are up for the ACT and I got a 32! Cheyenne yells woohoo! I'm so proud of you! BG looks at her and said its Ace he scored a 32! BG runs over and grabs the phone from her and said I'm so proud of you son! They will be knocking on your door now. Here's your mom but we have to celebrate in a couple weeks when we are together. Here's Chey. Cheyenne talks to him some more and ends the call with I love you baby! Justin's band members overhear and look questioningly and Ben had walked over to her. He asked what had happened and she said Ace got his results today and it was 32 so he called me to tell me. Ben told her he knew that they were proud of him. She walked over to BG and Justin and was talking to them. Justin's band asked Ben does BG know she tells that Ace she loves him? Ben laughed and said yeah y'all this her son. He's gonna be a senior this year and it was his ACT score results. And just so you guys know she has 2 daughters Sierra and Ellie and they are off limits. Sierra is married to Colt and Ellie has a boyfriend Brody. Then there is Ellie's roommate Claire. They will all be around some on this tour and FYI Kolby likes Claire. They look at Ben and ask when did she have kids and Ben said 20 and before you ask she is 41. They shake their heads and he laughs. Hey BG Ben yells, BG said yeah. Ben says I've just explained the whole family situation to Justin's band cause they were confused at why Chey was telling another guy she loved him. BG and Cheyenne laughed. Then he said did you tell them the girls are off limits? Ben said yeah man you need to tell Justin. BG explains everything to Justin and he said I never thought you were that age Cheyenne but then again I'm not one to care about something like that. They talked a few more minutes before PJ told BG that they needed to get ready for meet and greet.

Back at the bus getting ready B asked Cheyenne what she was wearing tonight and she told him the girls had picked out a couple of things for her to choose from and he could tell her what he thought. He said where are my choices and she said the blue sundress or the red jumper. He asked which one is your favorite ? I don't care she replied you pick for me. He told her the red and said then I will wear my American wife beater and blue jeans. That way we match and he grins. She said are these shorts and shirt okay for the meet and greet? BG looks her over and says yeah baby you look good wish I could just keep you on this bus and he hits her butt. She looks at BG and said me too babe. PJ hollers from the front y'all we got to go. BG said come on woman lets go meet the fans and takes her hand. BG gets on one side of Cheyenne and let's PJ take the other to get through the crowd to the back so they are in the private meet and greet and Q&A room.

The moderator introduces them and they get their mics and climb on the stools. So they start the question and answer part

M- Susan wants to ask "What made you decide to do a duet ?"
BG- Well my label told me I had to I had fought them on it for 2 years. It was a part of the new album contract. The only way I agreed to was if I got to pick my partner.

M- well Rachel asks how did you decide on someone who wasn't in the business instead of Carrie or Miranda.

BG- I was just trying to get out of it to be honest and then I had something happen that opened my eyes and I knew Cheyenne would be the perfect match.
M- Do you care to explain what changed your mine.
BG- We don't mind, it was after my friend Robert died and we were out to eat the night before we were leaving and the hotel restaurant had karaoke night and all the guys and Roberts family were there and it was a good time for all. A time that we spent talking and telling stories about Robert. When my song Bottoms Up came on Cheyenne's daughter Sierra was chosen and she told Cheyenne she would do it if she helped so they did. As I sat there and watched I knew the that's who I needed to sing. Ben had filmed it on his phone and sent it to me I sent it to my label and the rest is history.

M- Well Cheyenne we heard BG tell his side what was your take and how did he get you to was a music career something you always wanted asks Mindy

C- Well he conned me into accepting. I sent him a text about 2am asking if he was awake . He was and then he called. Wanted to know what was wrong when I said I couldn't sleep he offered to sing to me so he said what song and I said Let it ride. So he started singing and I sing with him. He asked me as I was half asleep would I sing with him and I said yeah I just did and he said no I mean on my album and I said yes. Then he called the next day and told me that I had agreed to sing on the album and tour dates and awards shows. He did give me the option of bowing out but I had agreed and I keep my word.

M- Cheyenne did you want a music career?
C- I can honestly say that was not something I ever dreamed about. I am a nurse and that was what I wanted to do because I love helping people and making a difference.

M- BG Jules wants to ask if you worry about Cheyenne's safety on the road.
BG- I wouldn't say I worry about it I'm concerned but at the same time I know she can handle herself. I have seen her take down a 6'6" biker and put him on the ground.

M- So she is a force to be reckoned with?
BG - Hell yeah my guys are a little afraid of her
C- just your guys B are we forgetting yourself? She laughs.

M- okay it's time for the music part of this
BG-as he picks up his guitar What do y'all want to here?
Crowd - one hell of an amen, bottoms up, fall into me, grown ass man lights of my hometown
BG sings One hell of an amen with Cheyenne's help. And Grown ass man by himself and fall into me and Cheyenne helped on parts of it. They took pictures and signed autographs. Then headed to catering to eat before going to get ready for the show.
