Through it All

Chapter 13

BG drives to the Holiday Inn and pays for the band's room his room and he got one for Cheyenne and Ace like the girls told him too. He texts the girls and let's them know that she is still asleep and if he can get her in his room without waking her he will let her sleep for a while. Sierra texts back that was good and she was packing her mom a bag for tonight and tomorrow. Ace would probably come by and get his own stuff and Ellie was going to Brody's tonight after an appearance at their grandparents. If her mom didn't wake up and come to her grandparents then she would bring it to the hotel. BG told her he would keep her updated on Cheyenne. Now to go to the truck and get her without waking her and drawing attention to himself going in the lobby.

Returning to his truck he sees that Chey is still asleep he opens the door and gently lifts her into his arms and carries her inside. He heads to the stairs as going to the elevator might have people asking questions. He gets to the 3rd floor and their block of rooms and opens the door to his room without waking her. He lays her down on the bed and she curls into the fetal position.

BG stretches out on the other queen bed and tries to make a list of what all he knows that they will have to do tomorrow. Robert wanted him to sing at the funeral but he told him he wasn't sure he would be able to do it. He wants the Joey &Rory song "When I'm gone"played and he said he wanted me to sing "See you again" that one in not sure of, Robert told me to get my guitar and figure it out. He didn't want a sad funeral he wanted a celebration of his life and his life with Cheyenne and the kids. Robert asked 2 of his other friends to do the funeral they are both ministers and they agreed to it. Ace said that he wanted to speak also but I'm not so sure he will be able too. He has text me saying that he was at his friends house and checked on his mom. I told him that I would text him when we started to his grandparents. Cheyenne's phone has buzzed continuously, I'm glad she is getting some sleep because she has had a very rough day and the next few aren't going to be any easier. Liz her best friend took care of school and letting them know what was going on. So that is another thing taken care of for her. I guess I have put it off long enough I guess I will get the guitar out and figure out this song. As I am working out the cords and tweaking it to my style Cheyenne starts to move so I stop. Cheyenne says don't stop I love listening to you play and sing. What are you working on? BG tells her and you could see that it took her breath away almost for a minute she had forgotten the events of the day. She sits up brushes her hair out of her eyes and scoots to the edge of the bed . Cheyenne looks at BG and tells him that she has put it off long enough. It was time to go to Robert's parents house and in turn to her house. BG tells her what Sierra had him to do about the room and he could visibly see her relax. She tells him thank you and that she would pay him back. BG tells her no you won't I promised Robert that you and the kids would want for nothing. Cheyenne laughs at him and says B tomorrow I go to his plant and sign papers on a settlement and pick up a check for $50 million dollars and that is not counting his retirement or his life insurance. BG asks when she decided this and she told him when she talked to the men from the plant. Robert and her had always discussed what to ask for in case of something like this. BG just sat there and laughed. Cheyenne tells him she also wants to look at a house tomorrow that she wants to move away from Roberts parents now that he is gone. BG told her he was there as long as she needed him to be. Cheyenne looks at him and asks where is Amber? Is she coming tomorrow. BG drops his head and said Chey she's not coming. Cheyenne respond with why not B ? What is going on? He said I wish I knew what the hell was going on, I was about to text you today when you called because I wanted to know what was said when we left last night. Cheyenne told him that she had said something to Amber about a family and Amber told her not as long as he's on the road. I'm sorry B I didn't mean to cause a problem. BG tells her you didn't that he had been pushing Amber to quit taking her pills so they could work on it. I never thought that me touring would be a problem, I had always planned to do like Tim did when his kids got up older and that was to tour in the summers and do some shows when they were out that way I don't miss anything. I want the relationship with my kids like y'all have with yours. You can't have that if you are never there. Cheyenne tells him that him and Amber need to talk when he gets back and lay all the cards out on the table. BG pulls Cheyenne in a hug and tells her let's go get this done and get you back here to rest. Oh Kolby and the guys will be here pretty soon and if you play nice with the in laws I will take you on a ride when we get back. Kolby is bringing Hoss. Cheyenne looks up at B and smiles. She tells him you sure know how to sweet talk a girl. They both get a kick and laugh. BG texts the kids lets them know that they are headed to Roberts parents house.
