I was sitting down on a wall beside my best friend Geo, whose eyes were focused on his phone's screen, a small smile stretched out on his face. We've been sitting in silence whilst concentrated on our phones screens for ages, it's something we do way too often.

I've been here in America with Geo for about a week now, I stay with him every summer holidays. I'm originally from England, I live there with my mum and dad. I hate it there. I have no friends and get bullied because of my gay brother who ran away from home almost a year ago. I hate the fact how I'm bullied because of something which should be taken seriously. My brother was all I had. He also had no friends, so we'd hang out at lunch every day, sometimes skyping Geo. My brother obviously had a crush on Geo, but in all honesty, I found it amusing.

He came out to my parents roughly a month before running away. My parents were furious, at first they'd use verbal abuse but it soon came to physical. It changed my brother. He wasn't the happy, excited guy I used to know. Instead, he'd spend most lunchtimes avoiding me or eating with me in complete silence. He stopped talking to me completely, and 'til this day I don't know why.

One morning I woke up to hear a window smash. I knew it was from my brother's room, my first thought was that he committed suicide. I ran to his room and stared out of his window to see him running for his life with a huge backpack.

I remember firstly yelling his name, begging for him to stay. But he ignored me, which caused me to collapse onto the floor and cry as though the end of the world was coming. I knew deep inside that it was for the best, but I still so badly wanted him back. I wanted to walk to school with him and eat with him every lunchtime whilst skyping Geo, laughing until tears came rushing down our cheeks.

"What you looking at?" Geo chuckled before I quickly stopped staring at his face, blushing in embarrassment. He had a smirk stuck to his face which made my heart melt and thud rapidly.

"Just your handsome looks," I said as sarcastically as possible, trying my best to forget about my brother. Geo let out a snort of laughter and then pushed me playfully. I pushed him back, but a little too hard and let out thunders of laughter when he fell off the wall. Luckily he was okay, but his eyes were full of mischief.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me off. I let out a squeal of shock and then threw a pebble at him when I recovered from stumbling. I quickly ran when I saw him grab a handful of pebbles himself but he was too quick. He grabbed my wrist when he caught up to me and spun me around, throwing the handful of pebbles at me. I felt a rush of butterflies flutter in my stomach when I felt his warm hand, but then let out a shriek of pain. To my surprise, Geo gasped and went a bit closer to check if I was okay. I blushed when I turned my head upwards so our eyes met. Our faces were so close that our noses could be touching.

"You're a jerk." I smiled.

Geo smiled back. His smile was so cute that it was tempting to take a picture of it so I could stare into his beautiful eyes forever. "Love you too, princess."

I don't think he realised how much those three words meant to me. I rolled my eyes, even though I was extremely happy, and walked away, Geo following. He grabbed my hand and then lifted them up and down.

"You love me really." He teased, staring at me with a smirk.

"I really do." Was my sarcastic reply. It was so hard to hide my feelings from him but I felt as though I do a good job at it. If Geo knew I liked him I'm sure he'd act differently towards me, maybe a bit more sensitively.

We then stopped at a cafe and went to choose some food. The man behind the counter looked about twenty, and he was staring at us with a grin.

"What a cute couple." He whispered to the girl beside him. She looked up from what she was doing and let out a grin herself. "Look how in love they both look."

I felt butterflies go crazy in my stomach when he said those two sentences. I don't know if Geo heard, but I defiantly did and I don't think I've ever been happier.

"One chocolate cupcake please," Geo told the man.

"I'll have the same."

The man nodded at us and stayed smiling. After handing us the cupcakes he looked directly at me and said: "Is he treating you right?"

I let out a laugh and nodded. "He's my best friend."

I could tell Geo was amused himself. He was smiling and his eyes were bright with amusement.

"Oh, what a shame." The man chuckled. "I really thought you both were dating."

"Maybe one day," Geo said. I looked at him in shock, but this only caused Geo to burst into laughter. "I'm kidding Luc, don't look so worried!"

I forced a laugh back but really I felt disappointed. Who am I kidding, of course, he doesn't like me.
