Lucy's POV

"W-what?" I stammered. "But you said half an hour!"

The police man sighed and then leaned against the wall beside him. "They've come early." He said sympathetically. "Say your goodbyes."

I looked at Geo and felt a lump form in my throat. "Bye." I whispered.

"Bye." He whispered back.

I stared at him for a while, not wanting to leave. But eventually I accepted the fact that I'm going to have to at some point and walked away, trying my best to not look back.

"Lucy!" My mum gasped the second I entered the room. She then ran up to me and hugged me. It was obvious that what she was doing was all an act.

My dad then slowly walked towards me and gave me a sympathetic smile. I smiled back but I knew that my eyes were sad.

"I tried to stop her." My dad told me, ignoring the fact that my mum was right beside him.

I looked at my dad for a while with desperate eyes and then burst into tears. My dad hugged me and allowed me to cry on his top, something Geo would do.

"Come on now Lucy, crying isn't helping." My mum ordered sternly, yanking my hand. I didn't bother to argue as I knew my mum isn't the type to change her mind. Instead, I let out a sigh and tried my best to get myself together. I allowed my mum to drag me to the car and looked back, hoping Geo would be there to save me. But he wasn't.

Memories of America flashed into my mind. It all seems like a dream now. How did I manage to date my best friend who's defiantly out of my league? I was so, so lucky. I didn't realise how lucky I was. I spent half of my time crying and now I'm regretting everything.

All of a sudden I felt numb inside. I didn't cry, instead I stared at my feet and ignored my mum giving me a lecture whilst feeling nothing but sadness.

My phone buzzed and I felt my heart beat fasten when I checked it to see a text from Ariel.

"Are you really leaving?" I whispered whilst reading the text she sent me.

Yea Was my reply. I wasn't in the mood to try and make an effort for a conversation.

After about two minutes, Ariel replied saying: We've got to get you out of there.

There's no point Ariel. You'll just get in trouble with the police.

Well this sucks.

I didn't reply because to be honest Ariel was making things worse. I ignored the other buzz my phone let out and closed my eyes whilst leaning against the seat. I tried to dream about Geo but got woken up by my mum.

"We're here!" She squealed, opening my door. "England here we come!"
