Chapter 108

It was the next day of school. 

I was sitting next to a strangely quiet Geo who was staring at his shoes and not bothering to start a conversation. He was late again, but for some reason Mr Clarke didn't say anything about it. He just looked at Geo and then back at his computer. He wasn't even looking at Hazel. Maybe he's scared of getting caught.. 

After a few minutes of scrolling through pictures on my phone and giggling at Geo who fell asleep on the desk in front of him, Mr Clarke stood up and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. Again, he wasn't looking at Hazel. He had big bags under his tired looking eyes. Maybe he had been caught about harassing Hazel and is in a lot of trouble. 

"We have a new student joining us today." He sighed, rubbing his eyes. He then let out a yawn and stared at the door with a frown. "But looks like he's late.."

His eyes then turned to me and I felt my heart beat quicken in fear. For some reason I was scared of Mr Clarke, and I felt really uncomfortable whenever he did the simplest things to me, like look at me or smile. "He's from England too."

To be honest I couldn't care less about where this new student is from. I just stared blankly at Mr Clarke, trying my best to hide the fear filling up inside of me, and then felt a small rush of proudness run through me when Mr Clarke looked away. I love it when I'm the one who stares at the other person for longer. 

After me going on my phone again and taking a picture of Geo sleeping on snapchat for my fans to see, giving it a caption saying: "He's sleepy", the entire class went dead quiet when the door slammed open and in came a boy.

I felt my mouth drop and my eyes turn wide. It was the boy who I saw yesterday and thought it was a certain someone. But now, as I stare at him stand in the same room as me, I was certain that it was him.

But why wasn't he looking at me? Surely he'd catch my eye and flash me an excited smile?

He's mad at me, isn't he?

"Sorry I'm late sir." He apologised. His eyes then turned to Hazel and I could see him give her a look he used to always give me, with such love and interest. "S-should I sit at the back over there?"

I could see that Mr Clarke wasn't happy with the boy sitting next to his obvious crush, but he nodded anyway, clearly trying to hide his irritation. I felt my heart drop when the boy's eyes turned bright with happiness, and so did Hazel's. He's obviously in love with her, and even though it shouldn't, it made my heart break. 

The teacher then looked at the boy with a jealous expression and said with a hint of anger: "Introduce yourself, then."

Geo finally awoke and the second his eye turned to look at the new guy he stared at me in shock. I nodded, as though to say: "it's him", and Geo then squeezed my hand. I'm not sure why he did that, for reassurance or to be happy with me, but I kissed his cheek anyway and forced a smile. 

"Uhh.. I'm from England." He began, slowly standing up midway sentence. He then looked at everyone in the room, even me, and said his name. "I'm Jack and I'm sixteen." 

"Oh my god.." I whispered, trying my best to not cry. "Geo.. it's him.."

Geo didn't say anything, I knew he was as confused and shocked as I was. 

"And he's clearly angry at me." Geo's arms were around my waist now and his head was resting on my shoulder. I'm guessing he could sense the sadness which was filling up inside of me. "He hasn't even bothered to look at me."

"We need to talk to him." Was Geo's reply. 

I nodded, even though I was terrified to do so. 

I then watched Jack sit back down and smile at Hazel, who was bright red and obviously head over heels in love. He then began talking, his smile not fading away, and bit his lip whilst listening to her talk.

That's what he'd do to me. It made me feel so special. 

But I clearly wasn't that special to him if he replaces me this easily.
