Geo's POV
Today is my eighth day in jail. All I can say about it is that it's grim. You see things which you cannot unsee, you eat foods which make you want to puke and you work as hard as an athlete would. Not only that but you realise how lucky and free you were outside of this dumpster and realise how much you love your family and significant other.
I'm in here for a year. A year. Words cannot describe how depressed that makes me feel. The fact that I wont be able to see Lucy's beautiful face for that long makes my eyes fill up with tears. Heck, she's probably found someone better than me. Someone who she deserves.
When I come out I'm going to be a new person. And I'm also going straight to England. If that means joining Lucy's school then that's fine. I need to stay with her. Even if she's replaced me by then..
"Oi Geo, ten more pressups!" The trainer yelled aggressively. I let out a sigh and tried my best to do another ten. Luckily my trainer isn't too tough. He pretends to not notice when he sees that we just can't do anymore. "Stop thinking negative thoughts!"
"Thinking about your girl again?" My friend Aidan asked, a hint of sympathy in his voice. I nodded, doing my last pressup and then collapsing on the floor, wiping sweat away from my forehead.
"You'll see her again, don't you worry."
I stared at the ceiling whilst lying on my back and panting like a dog. Aidan joined me and then splashed some of his water over our faces.
"Don't waste your water like that Aid!" His "friend" shouted. Her name's Alisha. Her and Aidan flirt at any opportunity. Although I don't blame Aidan for doing this as Alisha is stunning, they both have a partner waiting for them at home and visiting them everyday.
Alisha walked towards us, causing me and Aidan to sit up straight. She sat beside me but I know that it was just to tease Aidan. I tried my best to not chuckle at the disappointment that appeared on his face after she walked past him.
"How's y'all?" She asked, her big chocolate brown eyes staring at Aidan especially.
"Good." I shrugged.
Alisha smiled at me. "Jail's tough but as long as you have mates you'll get through it."
"And just because you're in jail doesn't mean that you're a bad person." Aidan added. He stared at his hands and sighed. "Some people just love to see others in pain.."
I stared at Aidan in confusion but patted his back for comfort. "I know the feeling." I admitted truthfully.
"Y'all are babies!" Alisha laughed. "Who cares about what others think?" She then looked at Aidan with an amused but sad face, "family doesn't matter when you have good friends! You both are my bestest mates y'know?"
I gave Alisha a genuine smile and so did Aidan, who was also blushing. I then laid back down and closed my eyes whilst pretending that Lucy was lying down beside me too, even though it was actually Alisha.
"You're my favourite though." Alisha whispered in my ear, making me jump. I turned my head to the side to see Alisha staring at me with a face full of warmth. I knew my face was full of complete confusion.
She's probably just doing it to tease Aidan again.
I didn't bother to smile at her in case she was flirting and I was getting things wrong. Instead, I just snorted as if to say "as if" and looked forwards again.
