Clark flew past skyscrapers, feeling the wind on his face then we interrupted by the house fire heat.
He flew in, breaking the burned roof, following the sound of the crying child and the screams of a woman.
His arm wrapped around the woman's waist and his hand holding the crying baby, he flew out.
People flocked around him, thanking him, some just staring in awe.
In the corner of his eye, he spotted a figure wearing a black hoodie that covered the persons face and ripped black skinny jeans.
He smiled at the crowd and flew off to follow the figure.
But the figure was not there.
When he arrived home, he did his usual chores and slipped into bed, letting the sleep overwhelm him.
At first it was dark.
Then a light lit in the middle of his dream. Clark knew it was a dream but it felt like a video he was watching. Very real and vivid.
A figure stepped into view.
The same figure he saw at the house fire.
The person pulled off the hood and revealed locks of hair and a simple smile.
For some reason, Clark couldn't make out any details. He just heard her voice. And the blood dripped out of her mouth and on to the ground.
Clark stared in horror as she laughed, the blood bubbling in her mouth.
"H-Help."
He shot awake. Meeting the still silence of his room.
He scanned the room for anything suspicious.
Nothing.
Clark let a out a breath he didn't know he was holding and he got up, silently scolding himself.
He slipped on his flannel and walking to the living room, turning on the TV, listening to the news.
Clark poured some coffee in a mug, rain tickling the balcony door.
He heard a crash next door and decided to go and check on it.
Boxes where spilled on the hallway floor, a girl in a black hoodie bent over to pick up the spilled contents.
Clark went out, being the hero he is, he helped her.
"T-Thank you." She said, looking at him.
Her hood fallen, revealing familiar locks of h/c hair and shining e/c eyes that met his bright blue ones.
"No problem." Clark said, offering a smile.
They collected all her fallen things and Y/N turned to look at Clark one more.
"Hi, uh... I'm Y/N. Your new neighbor. Obviously." She said, looking away.
"Clark, Clark Kent." He said, holding out a hand to shake.
"I w-would shake your hand but, I'm kind of busy." Y/N laughed, glancing at the boxes in her hand.
"R-right." Clark said, stuffing his hands in his pocket. "Well, I'll leave you to your unpacking."
She nodded and smiled, then closing the door.
Something about her seems all too familiar.
Then Clark remembered something.
He forgot to wear his glasses.
