Waiting (Oliver Queen x Reader)

She remembered when the news broke.

Everything turned into a sick joke, Y/N didn't smile that often and insist she was ok when the whole world knew she wasn't.

When Oliver died, Y/N realized that when he left, he took a part of her that she knew she was never going to get back.

It was like the world was trying to coax her back into her old former self.

She got promoted in her job and she won the lottery. But still, it felt like the dirty streets of downtown Starling that she was living in.

People sent her pity looks and Y/N smiled back like nothing was wrong. That she was fine. That she wasn't angry.

She soon got into fighting, beating criminals senseless in the alleyways of Starling.

Y/N smiled and plastered her fake politeness, but then by night, she was a mad, psychotic woman that desperately needed to relieve her feelings by beating people to the brink of death.

The late nights and bloody fist soon blurred from days to months.

Y/N decided she needed to forget and leave Starling and move the Central City, the complete opposite of her hometown.

Central was bright, lively, and filled with hope. Just what Y/N needed after dying for so long.

She tried to shake off the scar that she had with Oliver.

Y/N loved Oliver, and he loved her. At least before he cheated on her.

With her friend. That's the worse part.

A part of her family was ripped from her, replacing with lost and betrayal.

You have to understand that before Oliver died, Y/N was innocent and naive. She was filled with hope for the future. She was surrounded by love and she grew up believing that she was going to have a perfect life.

You could say that she had a perfect life.

When Oliver died, she lost sight of the hope that once filled her. The betrayal of Oliver stung and she didn't know what to believe.

When she was in agony, still a fresh wound, she didn't know what she was doing.

I guess you can say she was waiting for a sign.

A beautiful, lie that never came.

Y/N sighed and got off the train and into her new life in Central City.
