Barry zoomed into the lab where Cisco and Caitlyn smiled in greeting at him before continuing with their work.
Y/N didn't see him come in, she was staring at the crime monitor like her life depended on it.
Barry snuck behind her and poked her side and she retracted and whimpered. Meeting his laughing eyes, she smacked him while he chuckled.
"Well, it looks like the crime stopped for lunch." She commented. "How about we go get some lunch?"
"Can't." Caitlyn said, a little rushed, "I have to run some test on Barry's blood and see if what would—"
"Same." Cisco interrupted. "Could you run to Big Belly Burger and grab us some lunch?"
"Sure," Y/N grabbed her f/c hoodie from her chair. "The usual right?"
"I'll come with you." Barry offered.
"No!" Caitlyn yelled, before flushing. "I m-mean, we still need you because you're our test subject."
Cisco coasted a swift glare at Caitlyn before smiling at Y/N again. Y/N frowned, looking at Barry and Caitlyn. "Okay." She said, slowly.
As soon as her figure disappeared out of earshot, Cisco grabbed Barry's arm harshly.
                              "Hey, man—"
"We noticed another tattoo on your arm when we were cleaning up your wound the other day." Caitlyn rushed, "and we can't help but notice that it looks similar to a special someone."
"And by someone, we mean Y/N." Cisco clarified.
Barry felt his cheeks grow hot. "Don't tell her." He hissed.
"You have to sometime." Caitlyn frowned and crossed her arms. "It's only going to nag you."
"I know, it's just— she has a boyfriend and she's already in love." Barry look down. "She doesn't see me that way."
"Bullshit." Cisco deadpanned. They both had unamused looks on their face.
"Have you seen the way she looks at you sometimes?" Cisco said, "I swear, you guys are soulmates."
                              "Dude, shut up." Barry groaned.
"We aren't lying!" Caitlyn looked offended. "I think the only reason for that dude that she apparently loves is because she wants to get over you."
"We are only trying to save you before you realize it's too late." Cisco looked down. "It's a horrible feeling."
"Who was she?" Barry asked, softly looking at Cisco.
"That's besides the point." Cisco interrupted. "Anyway, you need to tell Y/N."
                              "Absolutely not." Barry replied automatically.
"No, we did not organize this just for you to give up and end with a broken heart." Caitlyn looked frustrated. "This is not only impacting you, but Y/N will realize soon and she will be sad that you didn't tell her when she still liked you."
"Caitlyn is right, Barry. This will break the whole team and my ship." Cisco said, crossing his arms.
The phone jolted in Barry's pocket. The sharp sound of the ringtone cut through the interrogation.
"It's Y/N." Barry said, looking at the screen.
                              "Answer it."
"Hey, Y/N." Barry said, glancing at Cisco and Caitlyn.
"Hey, I was wondering if you want me to pick up your calorie worth of burgers and milkshake." She said, the mall background was soft behind her voice.
                              "Uh, sure." Barry said, "Thanks."
"You owe me." The call was cut, leaving Barry and the two scientist in silence.
"Tell her." They said, then leaving Barry to his own thoughts.

Barry shot up from the bed.
Wires were hooked up to his arm and chest. A steady heart rate made a small beeping noise. Caitlyn was next to him and poked his tattoo. The same one as Y/N.
                              Oh.
Barry decided against telling her and it's been a week after the interrogation.
Caitlyn shook her head in disappointment, but left him alone in the bed.
He scanned his mind of want to say to Y/N. She obviously wouldn't be friends with him after this.
                              "Barry."
He looked up to meet e/c eyes.
"Hey, listen... I know I should've told you but I was scared," Barry rambled, "and you were dating the other dude so I thought—"
"I'm not mad." Y/N said, shaking her head. "I just wished that... You would've told me before I started dating Bryan."
"I know." Barry said, quietly. "I get it if you reject me, I hope we can still be friends—"
"I mean, if you told me earlier I wouldn't feel so guilty about dumping Bryan especially after 2 dates." She smiled at him. "He was really into it too."
"Wait," Barry stared at her smile for a moment. "Am I in a coma? Is this a dream?"
She laughed. "No Barry," she poked his tattoo on his arm. "This is reality, unfortunately."
Barry just continued staring at her. She placed a gentle kiss on his forehead, her soft lips pressing against his skin. The area became hot.
"After you heal and a phone call to Bryan, maybe we can go on a proper date." She winked. "For example, like a movie at my place."
                              "After Caitlyn?"
                              "After Caitlyn."
She walked out with Barry's eyes following her and a goofy smile on his face.
