Fear (Bruce Wayne x Reader)

Everything was business to him.

Justice league, his job, his relationship. Everything.

There was only one he didn't think was business.

His friends.

And turning them into lovers was one thing he hated doing, not matter if he was in love or not.

"You know to don't have to be here." Bruce told Y/N.

She smiled and told him "I know, I want to be here though."

Lately, he hasn't been able to figure out his feelings between friendship or something more.

An unsettling feeling rested over his chest as he watched her peck the guy.

"You didn't have to flirt to get the information." Bruce told her.

"But it's easier." She replied.

And lately, he has been convincing himself that it was just all in his head and he needs to focus more on business.

"Why don't he make a move?" They ask him.

"She's a good friend." He always would reply.

Something was holding him back. Something like fear.

He glanced down at the couple from the ceiling.

Her h/c hair was messily sprawled over his pillow while the other guy in the bed wrapped his arms around her waist.

And when he looked closer, it was him and Y/N.

She opened her eyes and looked over at Bruce's body.

And all the sudden, a jerking feeling pulled in inwards to his body. When he opened his eyes, he met e/c eyes.

"Why don't you care?" She asked.

"I do care."  Bruce replied.

"Why are you always late to our dates?" Her eyes glistened in her unshed tears.

"I tried!"

"No you didn't! You don't care, am I just another hooker to you?"

She slipped out of the bed, Bruce tried reaching out to her but his eyes shot up.

And he met his ceiling.

Terror shook his body as he imagined her leaving.

And the terror like these kept him from letting her in so she could never leave.

Even though she was already in.

His fears kept him from trying, his dreams kept him away from her but not far enough to forget.

And fears like those kept regret nagging him until he died.
