It was so abrupt, unexpected, heart jerking.
The string between them was ripped out of their connecting chest. Their connections wasn't a snip, it was a jerk, ripping away some flesh along with it.
Damian felt as if his heart was too big for his body when he saw the light in her eyes flicker out.
Time slowed, his insides melting in a suffocating heat as his head numbed in pain. Everything was just blank.
Everything was stopped as Time laughed at Damian's pain, watching him wither and die slowly.
It just hurt, just pain. It was all he felt. Damian would've traded the emotional painful feeling. The emotional tearing hurt so much, it was physical. It left a gaping hole in his chest. The hole that can't be filled.
Sometimes the smallest things cause the most pain.
It was like a virus, spreading the searing pain across his whole body.
Damian remembered the lump in his throat being so big, he choked it back along with the tears that threatened to spill across his cheeks.
Every dream, every thought, everything... It was all gone... Just like that.
The most terrifying experience that left his scarred to this day.
And the worst part is that he didn't know.
Why.
Why this is happening all so sudden. It hurt him when he was the most vulnerable.
Sometimes he wondered if it was even real. Was it even anything. Was she doing fine without him? Does she even remembered him?
Sometimes he would dream about her, about her sparkling eyes before she left. He would hallucinate about how she would kiss him, sending him shivers down his spine when she whisper words after she kissed him.
He craved her.
Everything.
His green eyes are now dried, her sucking away his happiness, consuming his thoughts, haunting him of what they had.
Making him wishing he could forget.
Easier said than done, as she smiled in front of him in the blank white room.
She wore a white dress, that dipped down to her ankles. The gentle wind blew her dress and hair, teasing him of what he had before. She looked like a goddess, he could practically smell her when he used to cuddle her.
It has been a year, and yet here he was, still dreaming about her.
Tears cascaded down her eyes.
Damian did what he always did, ran to her. His hands wiped away her tears as she cried.
"It's okay, I'm right here." He reassured her, crying himself.
"I wish I was there." She said, crying.
The scene started to evaporate around him, sending him to a panic mode.
"No!" He said, freaking out.
All he wanted was more time with her. All he wanted was her.
"I love you," was all she said, crying.
The shadow grabbed her, pulling her away for, him as he froze in his spot. Fear and terror shot through him as he lost her again. The pain was insufferable. It hurt to much.
He reached his arm out hoping to grab her into reality from this dream.
His body jerked and shot up, his green eyes searched the empty place next to him. But all he felt was cold sheets like always.
He desperately wished he could forget, and just continue to live one his life just like how he pretended to be.
That it was ok, everything was fine. That he didn't get his heart ripped out, that his brain could function without thinking about her 30 times a day.
Damian let out a angry groan as he grabbed the nearest object, a clock, and chuck it across the room.
The clock shattered against the wall, just like Damian's broken heart.
But this time, it wasn't replaceable.
Or fixable.
