In HYDRA Bucky was cleared of his tattoos. He didn't know how they cleared them, when they were supposed to be permanent. But he was blank as a state never less. His pale, porcelain skin was clear of everything including acne. He didn't know how.

But when Steve told him about the tattoo thing, he was confused. Tony tried finding traces of any tattoos, it was almost like he never fell in love.

Y/N was Tony's assistant and she was in the lab with Tony, trying to find anything that related to his missing tattoos.

Steve told him that he had 2 tattoos before he was brainwashed, so it was a positive that he once had tattoos.

Bucky stared out the side of the wall of windows, inspecting the cityscape below and the little cars that roamed the streets of New York.

"Okay, it seems like..." Y/N sounded hopeful, staring at the screen anxiously. Then, deflating again. "Nothing..."

Bucky offered a small smile in reassurance.

Tony ignored them as he looked at his own data. His eyes were glued to the glowing screen and began typing furiously before a smile broke out on his face.

"You said you didn't fall in love with anyone when Steve brought you back?" Tony asked, turning around and looking Bucky.

Bucky frowned, already not liking the idea.

"You just need to fall in love with someone!" Tony laughed. "The solution is so obvious and simple!"

Y/N nodded in agreement with her boss. "This is great, we just need to look for someone that is compatible with you."

"What about you, Y/N?" Tony said, then looking at Bucky's and Y/N's wide eyes, laughing. "I'm just kidding, calm down kiddies."

Bucky glanced at his naked torso. "Right," he breathed in shakily. "I just need to fall in love with someone, no biggie."

Y/N patted his shoulder. "Take your time, we aren't going anywhere."

Tony snorted. "Speak for yourself, I'm thinking online dating?"

Bucky frowned. "You can create a girlfriend online now?"

Y/N shook her head, hiding a obvious smile. "You meet people online that are single like you." She explained. "You text them and get to know them."

"Right, but grandpa here won't be good at that, so that rules online dating out. Blind dates?"

Tony had a evil smirk on his face. Y/N raised a eyebrow.

"I'm not so sure that's a good idea." She said, unsure.

"It's the fastest way because Robocop over here doesn't talk to girls anymore." Tony said.

Bucky frowned. Y/N gave into a sigh, then looking over at Bucky.

"What do you think?" She asked.

Bucky shrugged. "If it works, I'll do it."

Bucky came back from another failed date attempt. He came into the lab, groaning.

"She didn't like me because I told her I was too old for her." Bucky flopped down on the little clinic bed. "I'm never going to find someone."

Y/N was the only person in to room. She sent him a small smile, trying to reassure him.

"You'll find someone. Everyone does." Then, casting her eyes to his white button up and black dress pants. "She's just a bitch."

His metal arm glinted under his black coat as he tried to cover it.

"What about you?" He asked, curious.

She looked away, her eyes looked distant as if she was somewhere else. "I did have someone. But they left me for someone else."

Bucky frowned. Sure he was a player but he never cheated, that was just low. "He sounds like a ass."

"But it happened, you know? Sometimes I wonder why, was I not good enough for him?" Tears peeked out at the corner of her eyes. "We were dating for a year and a half."

Bucky stared at her sorrowful face, then getting up to hug her.

"He sounds like a ass, you're wasting your tears on him." Bucky told her, then kissing the top of her head as she sobbed against his chest.

"I-I can't h-help it. We were s-so happy, we were e-even planning to g-get married." She cursed under her breath. "God, I hate crying."

She glanced up at him. Her e/c eyes met his clear blue ones.

"I'm not pitying you." He said, seeing her expression.

"I know... I'm sorry I'm so unprofessional." She wiped away her tears. "Let's test out you vitals again, okay?"

He nodded as she walked away. He missed her in his arms.

Even though she did this a billion times, she leaned in and unbuttoned his shirt and stuck wired things above his heart and lungs. For some reason, his heart sped faster this time.

"Your heart's beating fast, Bucky." She said.

Bucky felt a prickling feeling on the back of him. That's when he knew he fell in love with Y/N L/N.

He stared at her, meeting her e/c eyes again.

Standing up, abruptly, he ripped the wires off and ran towards the exit.

"I-I got to go." Bucky ran out of the lab as fast as he can to the nearest mirror.

And sure enough, there was a little black design in the back, lower abdomen. He sucked in a shaky breath. The rest of his original tattoos began to appear.

Tony's plan did work, he did fall in love. And he did have a tattoo and all his original, older tattoos.
