I hope I made you proud______
Edward stared at the puzzle that sat on the teachers desk and watched it disappeared into her desk a minute later. Narrowing his eyes, he mentally planned to a way to get into later.
"You know, you could just steal it during lunch."
Whipping his head around, he met a pair of e/c eyes. Her h/c fell in strands around her face as she looked at him with curious eyes.
"I-I knew that." He lied.
She just smiled, and nodded. Edward had a uncomfortable feeling that she knew that he was lying. But brushing off the feeling, he ignored the girl.
It felt like a itch he wanted to scratch, always nagging him. And when he sneaked a peek over at the girl again, she got up. The teacher called her to do a problem. He got a whiff of cotton candy as she passed.

It was slow day. But it was Winter after all so he didn't expect anything less. It didn't warm his freezing toes though. The carnival was almost closing and the night turned colder.
"I'd like to play."
He met a pair of smirking green eyes. Under his arm was a girl who was hiding her face and a couple friends were around him. They were about the same age as he was.
"Did you hear me?" The guy said again. Edward disliked him immediately. "I said I'd like to play."
Edward painted a smile on his face. He would do the easiest puzzle for their sake. They seem stupid.
"Riddle me this, what is white when it is dirty, and black when it is clean?" He asked.
The girl under his arm rolled her eyes. The other people in their friend group seemed confused. The guy with the green eyes frowned, thinking really hard. Edward chuckled mentally at their stupidity.
"This—This is bullshit!" He finally growled, taking his money back and stomping away. The girl under his arm stayed while the other left with their leader.
Edward raised a eyebrow at the girl. But when he met her eyes, they were a shade of e/c that seemed so plain to him but felt like a kick in the stomach. It took him a while to remember her but when he did, he froze.
"It's a chalkboard." She answered. "Am I right?" Her smile was illuminating.
"Um, yeah." Edward nodded. He mentally hoped that's he wouldn't recognize him. His chin lowered, casting a shadow over his face.
"How about another riddle?" She asked.
"What about your friends?" He glanced at them. They were terrorizing other carnival rides. He pitied the other staff who had to deal with them.
"They're idiots. I don't know why I hang out with them." She shrugged, glancing at the stuffed animals that lined the walls.
"Ok... Um, what ring is a square?"
"A boxing ring?"
"What has a eye but not a head?"
