A little more light hearted_____
Bucky never understood the concept of a soulmate. He never needed anybody, so he continued have fling after fling.
Especially if you're never going to meet your soulmate in hundred of years,
Literally. It was so sad, it wasn't even funny.
Bucky felt so utterly pathetic when he sees people with expressions of pity when he tells them. He didn't know what kind of cruel joke the world was playing but it wasn't funny.
So he gave them a smile and continued on with his day, ignoring the dull pain in his heart.
But now.
It was time.
Or it could be tomorrow.
Bucky wouldn't know.
HYDRA replaced his hand with a metal one and now, he will never meet the one.
Steve told him that she would be there. Or a guy, Steve said he wouldn't judge. Bucky replied with a snort. He and Steve was new to this LGBTQ concept. It wasn't ever a thing said about this when they where younger, it was a thing but there was never really a label or brought into light. But they learned to roll with it.
Steve said there was this new trainer coming in to help with improving the team. T'Challa said he knew someone that would help them a lot.
And now, here was the team. Sitting in the living room that T'Challa prepared for them.
Bucky sat on the chair, twirling a knife that Steve and him were having a competition. Whoever didn't miss the target wins... Satisfactory... Bucky didn't care, he just wanted to win and nag about this moment to annoy Steve for the rest of the day.
"12-14, Old man." Sam said, smirking smugly.
"I think you're forgetting Steve." Bucky pointed out.
"14." Steve said. "Respect your elders, Sam."
"Yeah, Sammy boy." Bucky teased.
Wanda flicked her wrist and all the knives came off their boards and went dead straight into a random clean board.
"40." Wanda said, smugly.
Sam groaned, "Now that's just unfair." He complained.
"You don't even go here." Steve said, frowning.
"What does that even mean?" Wanda frowned. "That doesn't even make any sense even with context."
"Did you just make a mean girls reference?" Scott said, he looked at Clint, pointing at Steve. "Did he just make a reference?"
"I believe he did." Clint said, smiling a little. In his hand balanced a champagne glass. "This is really good champagne."
"I taught him well." Sam said.
"Are we just going to forget about the fact that Wanda cheated?" Bucky said, frowning.
"Guys." Everyone turned towards T'Challa, who was suddenly standing at the doorway. His arms were crossed and he made a expression that said "don't embarrass me or you're going to eating toenails for dinner."
He stood at the doorway with a girl.
She scanned the room but everyone was looking at T'Challa.
She had a high pony with a black jumpsuit and a olive green hoodie. Her boots and overall look was sleek and professional.
"This is one of the best fighters of Wakanda, Y/N. She will be your trainer. I think you will find a lot to learn." He said. His expression was a little proud.
Bucky met her e/c eyes.
His vision tunneled and his knees threatened to collapse on him.
She sucked in a sharp breath.
His senses felt heightened and everything around him was too much to take in. Her eyes sent a hurling amount of emotions, yet sent him to a blank state at the same time.
"Oh my god." She whispered.
The whole room stood still as they watched everything happen.
The team was stunned as well as the two soulmates.
"So... Uh, well—" Bucky started.
"Are you glad you took up my offer?" T'Challa interrupted. His grin was smug but astonished at the same time.
"Shut up." Y/N muttered. "You ruined the moment."
Bucky didn't say anything, but stared at his soulmate, thinking how much he was happy how he never found his soulmate back then.
Because everything was so perfectly misplaced now, he would never change anything.
