Soulmate AU (Dick Grayson x Reader)

Dick sat on the mansion ledge, gazing out to the driveway.

A f/c car pulled up, driving pas the dozens of bushes and statues. Tim joked how it reminded him of a graveyard, but they lived with the batman, so...

He also said his friend was coming over to visit him and help his study.

Dick snorted at the thought.

Tim didn't need to study. He memorized how to hack into 30 different governments with his eyes closed. He didn't understand why he needed a help from his friend.

Dick frowned as he jumped back into the building vents and came gracefully crashing down to Tim's room.

Tim got up and in his palms was a small dagger before letting out a sigh of relief when he saw Dick.

"Jesus Christ, you scared me." Tim muttered.

"Your friends here." Dick told him. "Saw his car pull him."

"Her." Tim corrected. "Y/N is a her."

"Is she your girlfriend?" Dick teased. "Or friend zoned?"

Tim rolled his eyes. "No, she's still waiting for her soulmate still."

Dick's eyes brightened at the word soulmate while Tim left probably to open the door for his friend.

Dick was a hopeless romantic for soulmates. He has seen some people fall in love with that special someone.

Having someone care for you without effort? Sign him up. The work was already done for him, he just needed to find this special person. Dick was sick of seeing everyone fall in love except him.

His sneakers made quiet footsteps down the corridor to the kitchen.

When his hand pressed against the cool metal handle to open the cold fridge, he took out a water bottle. The opening of the cap made a small satisfying click as he gulped down the water.

Voices reached Dick's ears as he perked up to listen in.

Eavesdropping was bad, but quiet frankly, Dick didn't give two shits,

"Is it just you in the house?" A female voice asked.

"Just my brothers and Alfred." Tim replied.

"Which brothers?"

"Dick and... Damian and Jason is probably out." Tim listed,

Dick stepped out of his hiding spot and saw the guest standing next to Tim.

Their eyes locked, sending the soulmate feeling in action.

His mouth immediately felt like it weighed thousands of pounds as his brain turned sluggish. Dick felt his mind trying to form words and pickup lines to say but it was all too stupid. His shoulders tensed up as he continued to stare at the girl like she was the most stunning thing he has ever seen.

Tim raised his eyebrows as he watched the whole exchange happen.

"Wow." Tim said, breaking the silence. "I never expected this."

"H-Hi," she stuttered out, smiling shyly. "My name is Y/N."

"I know, I mean—Tim told me, you see..." Dick scratched the back of his neck as his face started to heat up.

She just smiled.

And Tim standing back with a amused expression at their awkwardness and his third wheel position.
