Vision remembered Y/N. She was often at the Stark Tower always treating him, in his AI days, with kindness. And when he opened his eyes, he was lost.

Y/N was gone on a long term mission when Vision came alive.

He could feel everything when he had a body. The air felt warm. He could finally understand what was embedded into his mind. The world was suddenly more clear.

But he still felt separated between the world. A thin layer separated him from the rest of them.

He sat in the living room, reading a book from his stack of books. When the metal door swung open, he saw a woman who had h/c hair and bright e/c eyes.

Confusion rippled across her face when she saw him. He was confused too.

He didn't know how to describe her. He didn't feel as if she was beautiful or ugly, he didn't know what those words meant to him.

"Excuse me but... Who are you?" She asked. She set down the suitcase in her hand.

Vision didn't know what to say. He opened his mouth but didn't speak.

"Y/N?"

He recognized her voice, but seeing her was a whole diffrent experience.

"Yes..." Her voice was hesitant. Her hand whipped up as the plant next to him grabbed his neck. "I'm not going to ask you again, but who are you?"

Y/N could create and manipulate life. It was a dangerous power that was in her hands. Playing god wasn't for humans, but thankfully she never had to use her powers to her full extent, ever.

"I-I'm JARVIS." He stuttered out.

The plant next to him sprouted a bright sharp red thorn. Fear didn't make him stutter, it was seeing their ferocious look in her e/c eyes. He always imagined her as a kind person.

"Y/N!"

She whipped her head around to find Steve looking at her in horror.

"Let Vision go, he's with us." He said, quickly rushing over to them.

The plant retracted back to its pot, the thorn sinking back into the plant. Y/N visibly relaxed, a smile lifting from her scowl earlier and hugged Steve.

Vision rubbed his neck. The plant dug itself really deep into his neck.

"Sorry, just precautions." She said, sheepishly. Y/N offered him a hand to shake, the kind smile he imagined was on her face. "My name is Y/N."

_______

Vision didn't know how to approach Y/N when they were officially introduced. But thankfully, she had many questions so she approached him first.

And they quickly became friends as she explain some cultural language like slang and how to be causal. With her patience, she guided him through the human world.

There was always this distance between them that made them friends. It wasn't until she had her first nightmare that he woke up and was by her side.

When he came into the room through the wall, Y/N sat in her bed and staring at the wall. The room was freezing.

"You know there's a door, Vision." She muttered, "we talked about this."

"I know..." His voice was quiet and cautious. "I just..."

A tired smile made its way across her face. "I'm fine, Vision. You can go back to bed."

Vision stayed there, staring at her and wondering why she was lying even though she was obviously not fine. Then, deciding to leave to grab her favorite snack that she told him when he was a still a AI, he whisked off to the kitchen.

When he came back, she was wrapped in her blanket on her bed, facing away.. The city lights beamed on her face, giving her a angel like glow that made him stop for a second.

"I got you (favorite snack)." He said, setting down the food by her nightstand.

She was surprised, looking up at him.

"Thanks..." Her eyes trailed away from his and stared at the food. "How did you know?"

"You told me once." He sat next to her.

She grabbed some of the food, nibbling on the edge. They stared at the city lights and the cars that roamed the streets. It was a empty silence, but for the first time, it wasn't awkward. It was pleasant.

"Aren't you cold?" She asked him.

"No."

She lifted up some of her covers, looking at him expectedly. Vision, reluctantly, went under the covers with her.

Her body was warm, very warm. It was nice. He always felt cold and empty, even though he knows he's alive. But under the covers, he felt alive for once. Like he actually was living and human.

"You're cold." She murmured, her hot hand touching his forearm.

He froze for a second, then relaxing under her gentle touch.

"Tell me, Vision." Her broken eyes met his eyes. Vision felt vulnerable for the first time, but he felt like he was right at home. "Do I look weak right now?" Her voice was tired. Just tired of everything.

He studied her for the first time. He noticed that her eyes had a red hue around them. The way her lashes made shadows on her cheeks and the softness of her words were somethings he never noticed before.

"Yes," he admitted. "But that's what makes you human."

"Human." She echoed. "Huh. You forget that sometimes when you try not to play God while everything reminds you that you are among the normals."

"You and me." He agreed.

She smiled, a genuine one this time. Not out of polite curtesy or covering something, just a genuine smile.

"You and me." She echoed.

And from that moment one, he swore sparks crackled to life in his heart as he feel it explode. It was a new feeling. It was the first. And he decided that he liked it.
