I am putting out a slight smut warning. It's nothing overly graphic but there is a small scene. Please don't read if you are not okay with that, or some slight cursing. This is your warning.
There are some mistakes and I hope to republish in the next couple days with them fixed but for right now I hope you can look past them and enjoy the story.
Any feedback is very welcome, I would love to know what you thought of it or how it could be improved.
Thank you.

Mia's POV:

It was weird. To see him. He stood across the street talking with I'm guessing some friends of his and I couldn't bare to take my eyes off of him. It had been years. Fifteen years if you wanted an exact date. And the little boy I used to hold was now a man.

A handsome man at that. He stood tall, taller than the four foot nothing he used to be. He towered over my height, I could tell even from where I stood. His dark brown hair had grown out long. Just long enough to brush the collar of the jacket he wore. A neatly trimmed beard adorned his strong jaw. I wondered if his eyes were as bright as they were when I last saw him. His body had grown strong and buff.

Many times I'd thought about what might happen if I saw him again. I'd imagined scenario after scenario and none of them included me staring at him dumbfounded with him without a clue I was just across the street. My legs burned to run to him. My arms burned to hold him. My throat burned to yell out to him, to call for him. But I couldn't. I felt frozen in a state of shock.

I wondered if he even remembered me. I would be crushed if he didn't.

Matty.....I wish I'd never left you.

Matty laughed heartily, something one of his friends said funny, and they began to walk on. My heart churned inside my chest, somehow sinking lower. Everything inside of me lurched at the sight of him leaving.

"Matty" I whispered.

Then as if a finger had been run up his spine he seemed to tense and freeze mid step. My heart began to hammer, slowly rising from the pit that was now my stomach. He couldn't have heard me. Not from all the way across the street. His shoulders dropped as if he'd had them tensed up. He turned his head and looked to be searching. I clenched my hands into fists, my nails nearly breaking the skin of my palms. I leaned forward on the balls of my feet, hoping he would see me.

Please Matty. See me. Please.

Then his eyes landed on me.

His silver eyes met my gold and for a moment I felt 10 again. We were back on the playground and everything was a whole lot simpler.

Then he sprung into action and ran into the road. A silver car blared his horn and slammed on his breaks as Matty had jumped right in front of him. I gasped, holding my breath and covering my mouth with my hands.

With amazing skill, Matty put a hand on the hood of the car and used it to push himself up and over the speeding car. He bound across the street quickly, before a car could come from the other way and walked up to me. His eyes were unreadable as they came closer to me. I lowered my hands from by my mouth. I stared into his eyes.

Brandon's POV:

Kaiden and I followed after Matt, crossing the street a lot safer than him. He nearly got hit. I'd never seen him act like that, so reckless and uncaring of safety. He ran to that woman and was just staring at her. What was up with him, or this woman? As we got closer I could see that he was breathing heavily, his whole body nearly rocking with the deep breaths he was taking.

We came up to the side of him and he didn't even acknowledge our presence. He was so focused on her he didn't even see us.

I looked around and saw a few people were staring at us. Matt had made a little scene.
