Vernon woke from his night of drinking, finding himself laid out on a couch. He sat up and noted that it was dusk. He had slept a whole day. He hadn't drank that much in a long time. Louis always seemed to be able to bring the glutton out of him.

After taking an extremely long piss he cleaning himself up he walked downstairs to see the pack was having a game night. He searched for Louis, finding him in the living room watching a movie with his wife and son. After a long goodbye he was ready to leave. His initial thought was to just leave but a thought made him instead look for Amora. He found her reading a book outside.

"I thought you were dead" she said, not looking up from her book.

A small smile pushed forward to his lips. Amora surely has changed in her short time with Meena.  "That was not enough to kill me."

"I take it you're leaving?" she said peeking out, over the edge of her book. He nodded. "Meena wants to see you before you leave" she said evenly.

Vernon was yet again surprised. The little girl was oddly attached to him, for how little she knew him.

"Why would she want to see me?"

"I believe she wants to ask you something. She ould not tell me what" Amora said in monotone.

Vernon knocked on her door before opening it just enough to poke his head in. The little hybrid smiled at him already tucked into her new bed. "Amora said you wanted to ask me something?" he asked. She nodded eagerly.

He walked inside and to her bed, sitting on it next to her. She moved over so he could sit next to her.

"What do you want to know?" he asked.

"Will you tell me about Gabriel?" she asked in a small voice.

Vernon was shocked. He looked at her, his dark eyes searching her big doe eyes. "Gabriel is a very complex angel. Why do you want to want to know about him?"

"Hassah told me that if you understand someone then you can find the best part of them. Then you can't hate them." Meena looked at Vernon bashfully through her lashes, gauging his reaction. "And sometimes I think I hate him for what he did to Hassah. But I don't want to hate him."

Vernon continued to be shocked and amazed by her. "Okay" he began slightly caugh off guard. "Well Gabriel's story kind of intermingles with Lucifer and Amora." Meena nodded, eager to hear the story. "Gabriel and Lucifer were created at the same time. From that very day they became the closest of friends. And with friendship also came rivalry. As they grew older and stronger their rivalry kept them in constant competitiion with the other. For a while both were very happy. It wasn't until a new angel moved to their side of Alleeria did the pair become distant."

"Was it Amora?" Meena asked excitedly.

Vernon nodded. "It was. Amora moved in and unbeknownst to her or Lucifer both angels were very taken by her. They quickly all became friends, but Lucifer was just a tad quicker. Lucifer was bolder than Gabriel, though Gabriel was by no means timid. Lucifer had always been much more hotheaded and outgoing, beating Gabriel to making a move. Gabriel did not just lay over and give up, he tried his hand at courting her, but ultimately it was who ever she decided upon. And though it wounded him deeply Amora chose Lucifer. Gabriel backed off and let them be happy, loving her from a far and as a friend. A friend she came to hold dearly.

"But as i said before, Lucifer is headstrong, and when he challenged God he lost his place among the angels. Gabriel was ordered to cast out Lucifer. Gabriel has always been loyal to God and anything handed down to him. So with wrenching pain he cast out his very best friend." Vernon looked down to make sure Meena was still awake. Sure enough her big eyes were fixed on him as she listened. "Gabriel was only ever able to grieve his loss internally, never being allowed to show pity or remorse for his actions or Lucifer as he held a prestigious position. He tried to comfort Amora as she tried to accept the fate of her lover. But she drew away from Gabriel, finding herself unable to embrace the angel who had wounded her so horribly. In the gesture both lost their dearest friends. Gabriel lost just as much as the others though many have not given it a moments thought. In little time he lost his best friend, any and all affection from the woman he loved, and his only other true friend. Quickly Gabriel came to be feared more than he used to be loved."
