Marta POV

Few days had passed and I was truly exhausted. We had loads of work finishing the Christmas video for the BVB so I had many late nights at work. Fortunately the issue with Warren was resolved and we both decided that we should stay friends and not crossed the line. I really valued his friendship so I was more than happy by that. But still it was not easy for me to relax because instead of sleeping I was involuntarily thinking about Marco. I was playing the events from ten years ago over and over in my head. Both the good and the bad, when he hurt me so much.

Now I was in Signal Iduna Park and my meeting with the BVB board just finished. They were really pleased with the result of our work and promised that they will cooperate with us on a more frequent basis. That was a great success so now I was talking on the phone with my boss and sharing the good news with him.

Yes Christian, I am not joking! They are really looking forward to working with us in the future. – I said laughing.

Marta, you are the best. Having you here was the best decision! – Christian exclaimed over the phone. – You worked so hard last days, so please take the rest day off. And I will not take any no or but for an answer. – he laughed and hang up.

I was putting the phone to my purse when I suddenly heard a very low cry. I looked around myself but there was no one on the corridor. I advanced few steps and then I saw a pair of really small legs under one of the desks standing near the wall, probably waiting to be put in one of the renovated rooms.

I crouched and looked under the desk and saw a small boy wiping his tears.

Hello? – I asked hesitantly. The boy was sobbing and didn't even look at me. So I had to change my strategy. Fortunately my cousins had young children so I knew that the best way to stop their tears is to distract them. – Excuse me mister, are you a businessman waiting for a meeting in one of those rooms?

The boy looked at me with his big eyes and shook his head.

Oh, that is a pity. I was told that a very important person is coming here and that I should bring them for a meeting. – I smiled slightly. – After the meeting there was supposed to be icecream for everybody.

I am not a businessman but I like ice cream. – the boy said seriously.

I will see what I can do about then. Come. – I stretched my hand to him. He took it after a while and stood up from under the desk. – I am sure that your parents told you not to talk with strangers so I will introduce myself ok?

He nodded.

My name is Marta and I am from Poland. I came to Dortmund to work, and now I was on the meeting with important people. – I said pointing at the end of the corridor where were toe offices of the board.

Ok. – boy nodded – But you speak German and you are not from here. How come?

I learned. It is important to learn languages because than you can work or travel abroad, or meet new people. Like I just met you. – I smiled – what is your name? – I asked still holding his hand.

Nico and I am five. – he said proudly.

I wouldn't think the other way. You look very serious and that is why I took you for the businessman. – I said and saw a big smile on his face. – Ok Nico, but if you are not here on a meeting so what are you doing here?

I am lost – he said sadly.

That is not a problem buddy, we will find a way. Is there anybody here with you? – I asked.

Yes. My Onkel took me here. – he said.

Ok. And he left you here? – I asked. – That is not very good.
