Caro's POV
"Don't go.." he tells me. I don't let go. I am still snuggled up on his lap and I'm not ready to go.
"I have to." I whisper.
"No... you can stay. As long as you want." He tells me holding my hand tighter. He starts wiggling my ring then takes it off... then puts it back in.
"I can't... I have to." I say putting my fingers lightly on his face.
"What can make you stay?" He asks. He looks at me for a minute and stare back.
I sigh and move off his lap.
"Come on Caro... why do you want to go back and be lied to?" He asks. I fix my hair in a bun and grab my keys and purse.
"And what do you think I'm here doing? There's always two sides to every story." I say grabbing my notebook and laptop.
He doesn't say anything.
"It's the girls' birthday is next week. Their mom can't miss it." I say walking to the door.
"Will you change your mind?" He asks as he follows me. I close my eyes and look at him.
"I don't know." I say quietly.
"Please." He says grabbing my face. I close my eyes and push his hands away.
"Goodbye Daniel." I say and open the door and slam it behind me. I stride quickly to the elevator never once looking back.
