Conor rolled over in his cot. Something brush his nose. The former shepherd opened his eyes. A familiar tail was flicking in front of his face "De- Worthy?" he asked. The other turnswick boy froze and stopped. His tail flicked Conor's face again. Conor sat up "Worthy, what are you doing?" he asked, still sleepy.
Worthy's tail flicked again and Conor placed his hand down on the black fuzzy furred tip. Worthy looked at him "Hi," he said.
Conor looked up, Worthy already had his mask on and looked ready to leave "Where are you going?" he asked.
Worthy's cat eyes looked away from Conor as if trying to find an excuse. This let the reminder of what today was. Conor laughed, startling the black cat hybrid and his tail puffed up. Conor closed his hand around it "You're running away from taking a bath," he said.
Worthy shook his head "No! Its just, King is s-"
Conor started getting up, still holding the tail tip "Come on, lets ask King about that," he said.Conor had lied about going to King, or Shane. He pushed Worthy into a large tub fiddled with cold water from the night before. The black cat screeched as he fell in. Some of the other kids were awake. They laughed at the display. All the red cloaks knew about Conor being the only non-bile Red cloak. He wore a sheep's wool as his disguise. Practically Conor was the Mom red cloak. Worthy tried to get out of the tub but Conor pushed him back under the water. Worthy hissed when he surfaced again and tossed his mask at the sheep boy. Devin's upset face glared back. Conor smiled and tapped Devin's nose "Re-vegenge," he said.
After spending forever making Worthy take a bath. Conor had gotten dressed himself. He wore a sheepskins undercoat thing. The outfit had wool on it that covered his upper chest and collar bone. The sleeves stopped at his wrists. His mask was carved to look like a sheep's face. He wore a brown shirt and black dyed pants. He had a normal red cloak. He walked about the large base and rarely spoke to a few cloaks that passed, he simply waved.
He finally got to Shane's area and walked inside. Shane was passed out on the floor, hugging a pillow while sunlight shone down. Conor dumped his small bucket of water on the reptile. Shane launched up while water dripped down from the hair that stuck to his face. Conor gave a laugh "Good morning your highness," he greeted.
Shane brushed his bangs away "Why?" he asked.
Conor tucked his bucket under his arm "You were still asleep and need to get moving, that's why," he stated. So far it was a pretty good morning.
