They were supposed to all make it. He pushed through the fighting to see Abeke holding Shane. No- no- no- nononono. Conor crouched near them "S- Shane?" he whispered.
Shane's eyes were glazed but he smiled up at Conor "Connie, I was worried you weren't going to show up for a moment there," he whispered.
Conor pushed up his mask "Shane don't say that- we'll get you help, just hold on!" he begged.
Shane shakily pressed his hand to Conor's cheek, Conor held it tighly. The hybrid wiped away some of the tears "Its okay Conor, I'll see you again. Just take your time please," he whispered.
Conor sobbed as Shane's eyes fluttered shut. This wasn't supposed to happen. They were all supposed to make it.
