Tyson learned that faricans gave the person they wanted to marry was to give them gifts. He really liked Naj, she was fair and had beautifully pale skin. She looked like a white rose.

He had learned about her by asking people who knew her. She had albinoism, so she didn't enjoy going outside but she did love candles. They were weak enough for her to see. So he learned how to craft candles and worked on making one just for her. So he crafted a candle that looked like a book. Naj loved reading and she loved books. What was better than crafting a gift that was two things the person liked?

Tyson smiled at Naj as she stated at him. He kept fidgeting with his gift. She had red eyes, bright red eyes that were filled with interest "How may I help you?" She asked.

The former storm held up the gift "Hgnssj," was all he could manage.

Naj took it "Oh um... Thank you?" She replied.

Tyson cleared his throat "I um read that Faricans give the ones they love something and I wanted to um... Give you a gift?" He said.

The mind apperentice had started smiling "Tyson I'm not sure you knew but only earths do that," she explained.

Tyson felt himself paled and began backing away. Naj took a few steps forward but the former storm turned around and sprinted off. He was a fool, he didn't know how to be a mind and now he just proved to her that he like her by doing that. Tyson hid in his dorm room and didn't leave.

A knock came to his door a few minutes later. Tyson got out of bed to see Naj holding something in her hands. A glass jar filled with gray cotton balls and thin metal wires. She gave him a smile "I didn't get to finish." Tyson opened the door and let Naj enter. She held the jar to him "I like to perform Earth traditions, they're fun and a good way to learn more about another culture in Fariac, so in return I made you a gift," she explained.

Tyson took it with a blank expression "But I don't understand," he said as he looked at her.

Naj kissed him on his cheek "It means I love you too," she replied. Tyson smiled widely at the fact. He kissed her in the lips.

Tyson watched as Tipu and Jesper talking to each other. Tipu held out a box with a board smile on his face, Jesper stared at in confusion. The mind man smiled at the sight. Atin was watching as well "I don't get what's so important about a box," he said.

Tyson looked at his older son "It's an earth tradition, you give the person you love a gift to represent that love," he replied.

Atin furrowed his brow "That's weird, why would earths do that? It's silly," he said.

Tyson laughed "Your mother loved doing that, she loved a lot of things about other cultures," he said, his smile growing fonder.

Atin watched as Jesper and Tipu vanished up stairs. The present peeking out of the box was a small gazelle that look a lot like Maui. The mind boy sighed "Yeah," he said. His tiny familiar, a corn snake, peeped out of his sleeve.

Tyson looked at Atin "Maybe you should join Jesper on his earth trip next month, it would do great for your study program," he said.

Aton shook his head "No, it's fine," he replied dismissively.

The man nodded, it was best to let him make his own choices. Maybe next time he'd try again.
