Did Conor want to start his morning with Abeke pushing a bot into his shop just as he woke up? No. No he didn't.
But he accepted it and her hasty explaintion. Apparently it was malfunctioning in an alley. Conor glanced at the bot. He tapped it's face which made the broken thing react. It's hand jerked up as it's face broke into a smile "H- h- h- hi I'm I'm Sh- Sh- Shane! What's my name? H- h- howdy! S- s- Steriol. W- W- WHERE ARE WE?" Shane slumped over again.

Conor sighed as he looked to Abeke "I'll see what I can do." He told her.

The old worlder broke into a wide smile "Thank you Conor!" She said. Conor shooed her from the shop. He had a long day ahead and couldn't deal with interruption even if she was his friend.

He cracked open Shane's chest and dropped his crow bar after a moment. Inside of the bot was an actual heart and pair of lungs. A beating heart and slowly moving lungs. That was horrifying because bots don't have HUMAN HEARTS AND LUNGS. They had artificial ones, designed to act the same way but not a real beating heart and lungs. A groan came from the bot. Conor looked up.

Shane had its eyes open and looking at the mechanic. The bot started breathing faster, the persistent thump suddenly growing faster and then came the shrieking.

Fun fact: Bots are designed to have an automatic defense system that was called Unpermitted Enetry Desfensive Shriek or U.E.D.S for short. When somebody opened up any plating on them while they were sleeping or unconscious this system would awaken them and cause a Shriek to start. It was designed to make the attack or thief to stop/malfunction. The only way to stop it was closing the panels or shutting the bot off.

Conor clapped his hands over his ears. The bot was still Shrieking, it wasn't stopping. The mechanic wanted to shut the panels but the noise was hurting his ears. He stretched his left arm out, the skin moved unnaturally before ripping open and unleashing the metal skeleton underneath. He'd have to buy new skin replacements again.

The bot stopped shrieking when Conor forced his metal fingers into it mouth. Shane gagged but fell silent and stiff after a button was pressed on the roof of his mouth. Conor removed his fingers. The bot was stiff once more but otherwise offline making the mechanic's work a little more easier.
