One of the large covered windows let out a shrill cry as the curtain flew open. The crowd gasped as Shane broke away from the Prince. He could feel the odd tingling in his feet as his eyes stared at the bright rounded full moon. It's wicked white face taunted him. He needed to leave.
Now.
Shane ran, dodging and avoiding people is Prince Conor followed him. He could feel his boots tightening. It always started at his feet.
He shoved open the door, ignoring the moonlight that washed over him. He was going down large steps made for crowds to exit not a runaway monster and a prince. He was farther ahead, tugging at one boot in hopes of getting it off before it- his feet tore open his other boot as the first came ofd. He huffed and tossed the remaining boot onto the steps then dashed into the forest.
Conor reached The boot and held as he stared at the muddy imprints on the path. Large feet with three toes. Conor smiled "I found my beast," he said and went back to the castle.

Shane stalked through the forest. His clothes stretched over his large scaled body, his tail dragged behind him as he stomped towards his home. Hopefully Uncle Gar would understand. Shane sat on a fallen tree he felt tired and terrified. Everyone at the castle had seen him run out while dancing with Prince, the crowned Prince of Erua and he just ran away like the peasant boy he is. The half breed hissed as he held his head in his clawed hands.
Shane rose up when he heard the noise of something running. Leaves crushed under rushing steps, hard breathing as it drew near. He started running away unaware of what was going to happen.
He went diving and darting between through trees as the thing was approaching him. It was much faster or he was much slower. Shane tripped over a root and went sprawling into a moonlit clearing. Fear took over as he stood up and twisted around while opening his mouth widely and hissing as the thing came into view. A large gray horse reared as the rider pulled at the reins.
Shane closed his mouth as he backed away when the rider slid off the horse. Conor smiled at the hybrid. Shane looked away, he could run again maybe get home before Conor caught up. A hand touched his large scaly muzzle, Shane was pulled from his thoughts. Conor stroked his face softly "...Amazing," he finished.
Shane blinked "What?" He said.
Conor smiled as he brushed his fingers over one scale on the tip of his nose "You are simply amazing," he repeated.
The crocodile pulled away "No I'm not," he said. Shane backed away when Conor approached again, he gave a sharp low hiss. Conor stopped, Shane twisted around and dashed off "Shane!" Conor called.
The lower ranking boy kept running, scrambling as he turned around a corner. Something grabbed a hold of his hand. Shane hissed as he looked back to see hopeful green eyes "You are stunning, why do they call you a beast?" Conor asked.
Shane winced as he covered his face, a low whine built in his throat. He turned away "Beacuse I look like a beast," he said.
Conor stared at the large scaly creature "You look beautiful," he sighed.
Shane looked back at him "How?" He asked.
Conor smiled "Because I love you," he confessed.
Shane was glad he couldn't blush but his tail betrayed him as it began tapping. He covered his face again out of embarrassment. Conor laughed as he stroked it.
