July 2017~
Gen's POV~

"Well Dr Horan, you sound like a perfect fit here at the children's hospital. When could you start?"

I got the job?

"Oh wow, thank you!!! I have a patient I am treating that I would like to see all the way through, he has almost 4 months of treatment left." I answer flabbergasted that they want ME.

It was my dream job, working with children suffering with illnesses. My mom being a nurse really influenced it a lot, she said that children are our futures and if we don't nourish them mentally as well as physically then the world would cease to exist.

"I'm sorry but we need someone to start in a month at the most, there's no way that's possible?"

Well, yea it is.

"Yes, I can do that." I assure him. "Thank you so very much for this opportunity Dr Malik."

"I'll email you with the specifics, we will see you soon Dr Horan." Sighing I hang up the phone, I've been thinking about my future a lot. Harry's showed me how much I no longer want to work at that corrupt rehab and now I have the chance of a lifetime.

But at Harry's expense.

I've been thinking a lot, thinking how 6 months of rehab is stupid for him, the 90 day program would of been better suited for him. Louis was very invested in his sobriety though and only wanted the best for his friend though which I appreciate.

But we could be together sooner.

There's a knock on the door, a bellhop was dropping off the clothes Harry had gotten me but there was no sign of Harry. Maybe he was still shopping or something.

Sighing I call up the director of the program and tell her what is going on, after talking and ironing out everything we've come up with a plan.

Hopefully Harry agrees.

It's been three hours since Harry left and I was beginning to get worried, just as I gather my stuff to go look for him Harry stumbles through the door.

"There you are babe, I was just coming to look for you." I greet him as he sits down on the couch next to me. "I need to talk to you about something." I inform him, turning to him slighting. "What do you think about switching from the 6 month program to the 90 day program?"

Harry's eyes grow wide as he looks at me. "What? Why?" He asks.

"Both the director and I feel like 6 months is overkill for you, you've maintained your sobriety so well. You said you haven't even thought about having a drink in two months!" I explain.

"What if I don't want to leave the program before 6 months?" He murmurs.

"Well then your case will be given to Kendall." I answer, surprised he would ask that.

"Why can't you finish my treatment?" He asks, his eyes full of emotion.

"I'm leaving after your 90 day mark Harry, I have a job offer working with children battling terrible illnesses. It's what I've always wanted to do." I explain before reaching over and taking his hands. "Working in a rehab is not the job I want Harry, I hate being away from home and my family. But then I met you, you made it easier to do this time around but I realized.... I don't want to do it again, I can't. If you think we have a future together you could kiss it goodbye if I'm still working there, I would have no time between work and my family."

Suddenly I notice the faint smell of alcohol. "Harry, where have you been?" I ask cautiously not prepared for the answer.

"The bar."
